I’m pretty sure those ridges are the results for making Reese into a cup shape. There’s no easy way to make a circular piece of paper into a cup shape without having it make ridges.

The reason Reese's cups have ridges is similar to why cupcakes have them: to facilitate the proper folding of the paper. Neatly folding the paper requires the distribution or reduction of surface area. Since there is more surface area at the edges, the ridges help accommodate this extra area.

The ridges are there so the paper can be properly peeled from the chocolate without ripping or cutting the wrapper. Same as a muffin or a cupcake, the extra paper needs somewhere to go and the ridges provide the folds necessary to contain the extra paper. The reeces cup opens almost flat, without the ridges it couldn't open at all.

Do you want to have a relationship with someone who loves you beyond any other love. Someone who sacrificed himself for you and everyone on this Earth the one who created the heavens and the Earth be creator of everything do you want to be saved Do you want eternal life with peace and joy forever your answer is Jesus if you do not know who Jesus is read the following Jesus is the Son of God that came to this Earth to save the people of their sins. when God-created Earth sin same came into Earth and tempted Eve(The first woman) to eat the fruit that God had forbidden her and Adam to not eat. If they do, they will die. Not immediately but death is certain. Eve ate the fruit and gave Adam some to eat as well. And he did. That showed that humans are sinners and not perfect. That is why Jesus came to Earth to save humans of their sins. Which leads to a relationship with God(the main reason) and eternal life. He did that by dieing on the cross. 3 days later he resurrected. The story of Jesus is beautiful. If you do not already have a Bible, purchase one. If you do not have the money, pray to God about you wanting a Bible and if he could please provide one for you. Thus does not mean a Bible will come from the sky and land on your hands. Pray to God everyday. But to not be blabbering that just say a bunch words to try to impress and show off to other people or to impress God. A few words out of the heart is better than saying a bunch words to impress and not mean. This does not mean praying long prayers is bad. It's because of the wrapper. It's easier to mass manufacture one circle and fold it into ridges rather than making a 2 part cup with one bottom and one side piece. It's the same with cupcakes and also coffee filters.

If the moulds they use, are made of papers, then this shape makes the paper mould pretty stiff against bending. This helps to hold the ingredients in the paper mould without overflowing. But this theory is handy only if the moulds are made of papers, if they are aluminum or something else, then the material itself strong enough to hold the chocolate content.

Reese's Cups have ridges primarily for two reasons: 1. Texture and Grip: The ridges on Reese's Cups serve to provide a textured surface that enhances the eating experience. The ridges create a pleasant sensation in the mouth, adding a bit of crunch and tactile appeal. Additionally, the ridges help to improve grip and prevent the cups from becoming too slippery, making them easier to handle and enjoy. 2. Brand Recognition and Differentiation: The ridged design has become an iconic characteristic of Reese's Cups. It helps to distinguish them from other similar chocolate and peanut butter confections on the market. The distinct ridges have become a recognizable trademark of Reese's, allowing consumers to easily identify the product and associate it with the brand. Overall, the ridges on Reese's Cups serve both functional and branding purposes, enhancing the texture and grip while also contributing to the product's unique identity. By ChatGPT

Reese's Peanut Butter Cups have ridges due to the manufacturing process. The ridges form when the peanut butter cup is detached from the ridged mould in which it's made. The mould gives the cup its distinctive shape and those pronounced edges. Additionally, the ridges might make the cup easier to handle and less likely to melt in your hands. They've become a recognized part of the Reese's brand.

The ridges on Reese's Cups are actually meant to improve the texture and mouthfeel of the candy. The ridges create a slightly different consistency in the chocolate shell, providing a more satisfying crunch when you bite into it. Additionally, the ridges help the chocolate shell hold onto the peanut butter filling better. So while the ridges may not be necessary for the candy to function, they do improve the overall taste and eating experience.

Have you ever wondered why Reese's Cups have ridges? Well the real reason is also the main reason why cupcakes have ridges. You see, cupcakes use baking cups made out of parchment paper that prevents the batter from sticking on to the mold. And it would be a nightmare for Reese's to clean up their molds over and over again. So they used the cupcake method. And as for those ridges, they make it easier to peal off the parchment cup otherwise, it would be more difficult to peal it and could potentially break the chocolate.

Reese's peanut butter cups have ridges primarily for two reasons: structural support and aesthetic appeal. Structural Support: The ridges on Reese's peanut butter cups help provide structural integrity to the candy. The ridges act as reinforcement, making the cup sturdier and less likely to break or collapse during handling, shipping, or consumption. The ridges also help maintain the shape and prevent the cup from getting easily deformed. Aesthetic Appeal: The ridges on Reese's peanut butter cups also serve an aesthetic purpose. They give the candy a distinctive and recognizable appearance, making it easily distinguishable from other similar products. The ridges add texture and visual interest, making the candy more visually appealing to consumers. Overall, the combination of structural support and aesthetic appeal makes the ridges an integral part of Reese's peanut butter cups, enhancing their quality and overall consumer experience. - ChatGPT

Reese's Peanut Butter Cups have ridges on the edges because it helps them to hold their shape and keep the peanut butter filling in place during the manufacturing process. The ridges are actually a patented design and were developed by H.B. Reese, the founder of the Reese's candy company, over 90 years ago. The ridges make it easier to mold the chocolate around the peanut butter filling and create the distinctive cup shape that has become so popular. Over time, the ridges have become an iconic part of the Reese's brand identity and are instantly recognizable to candy lovers around the world In the grand scheme of things, whether or not Reese's Peanut Butter Cups have ridges is not extremely important. However, it can be interesting to know the history and design of popular products and brands. Additionally, knowing details about certain foods or products may be important to some people based on their personal preferences or dietary needs. Overall, the importance of this information may vary depending on the individual.

It’s probably because the ridges create edges that you’re able to easily peal off. Likely this was as a result of a supplier of the paper the reeses go in having cups with ridges available and they just sorta went with those and formed the shape off of them. Once they became iconic the shape stuck. But the reasoning for reeses could essentially just be inherently linked to the reasoning for these edges in these paper candy cups. If you look into baking cups, the first ones you will find are fluted baking cups (the ones with these edges). The fluted edges make them look elegent… But the real functional use is that they are very easy to peal away for guests being served treats. Perhaps they were popularized with the rise of cupcakes around the 1950’s? It would take a lot of research to verify.

It's because muffin cups and tart pans have ridges. and they were originally made in muffin cups and tart pans. now you need to go find out why muffin cups and tart pans have ridges, and I will give you this hint. The easiest way of making a certain size measurement value greater than Pi R squared. What value and why? figure it out! but the reason is obvious in the cookng process if you think about how the heat from cooking works.... and if you are still struggling and need another hint, consider that if the shortest distance between two points is a straight line, what is a longer distance between two points?

They are immitating cupcakes that are make using paper liners. LOGIC: Paper cup liners have ridges (correct word would be corrugation) for 2 reasons. 1. For them to be folded into a cup shape from a flat 2D circular shape 2. Corrugation gives them more strength.

OKAY HEAR ME OUT!.... 🧐 why Reese's Cups have ridges is related to the manufacturing process and the way the candy is molded. 1. Mold Release: The ridges on Reese's Cups serve as a mold release feature. When the candy is being manufactured, it is poured into molds to create the cup shape. The ridges help to create separation between the candy and the mold, making it easier to remove the finished product without damaging its shape. The ridges act as channels for air and allow for a smooth release from the mold. 2. Aesthetic Appeal: The ridges on Reese's Cups also add to the visual appeal of the candy. The textured surface created by the ridges gives the cups a more interesting and appetizing appearance. The ridges create a contrast between the smooth chocolate exterior and the creamy peanut butter filling, making the candy more visually appealing to consumers. 3. Differentiation: The ridged design of Reese's Cups helps to differentiate them from other similar candies on the market. The unique texture and appearance set Reese's Cups apart and make them easily recognizable. The ridges have become a distinctive feature of the brand and contribute to its overall identity and market presence. It's important to note that these explanations are based on observations and industry knowledge, as the specific reasons for the ridges on Reese's Cups may be known only to the manufacturer. In summary, the ridges on Reese's Cups serve as a mold release feature during manufacturing, add to the aesthetic appeal of the candy, and help differentiate it from other products. I hope this explanation helps 🙏🏼😊

Most likely they are trying to make it like this by maybe saving chocolate with putting chocolate all over the Reece’s cup

They have ridges so they sell less mass for the same price but the ridges make it look like it’s the same size rather than shrinking it down which would be noticeable.

It's also believed that the ridges on Reese's Cups serve a truly functional purpose. In other words, the ridges create a thick boundary between the chocolate exterior and the peanut butter filling, allowing a solid amount of chocolate in each bite. This promotes a more satisfying eating experience, as the contrast between the two textures and flavors is noticeable.

Its because people would shave the edges off and make their own Reese's cups, so they added it as counterfeit protection.
