Guys, kudos on these short, topic specific postings. The long ones were nice but honestly, there are not too many normal working people who are passionate about getting faster, that can sit for almost two hours and listen to the podcast. Keep the short ones going. Best breakfast companion 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼

I'm confused about what the temperature is in the studio - we see a T-Shirt, a long-sleeve, and a long sleeve with a puffy vest. Is it 75 degrees or 65?

I definitely found the importance of rest to be key to my productivity. Those hard efforts can never be sustained if I don’t get ample rest time.

I needed this podcast, guys. Thanks for reinforcing that recovery is just as much (if not more) a part of my training as the hardest rides.

I wish this vid had been posted like 3 months ago, lol. I just did 4 months straight with no rest. Live and learn :(

If you didnt get sick, then I'd imagine you weren't working at an intensity REQUIRING rest.

@@mitchellsteindler Nah, I was getting on it for 4 straight months.

You need energy to build hence eat when recovering. Come out fresh and rested ready to go go go. Nobody comes out of a fast going go go go. They say eat.

@TraineRoad how rest week should be planned ? every 3 months , after 2 weeoks of power endurance ?
@TrainerRoad3 жыл бұрын
This is where Plan Builder comes in handy! Rest weeks depend a lot upon your goals and target events, so a structured plan helps take out the guessing! ;)

I don't fully understand keeping intensity high during a taper, I mean it's intensity that is the most tiring and strenuous! If keeping fitness and being fresh is the goal then surely longer zone 2 rides would be more beneficial?
@TrainerRoad3 жыл бұрын
Those efforts aren't meant to be 'strenuous'. You're not building those high-end systems during that phase, just keeping them sharp. :)
@neoneherefrom58362 жыл бұрын
Glad to hear this. I was starting to feel like I was copping out on shorter rides with maintained intensities.

@@TrainerRoad ah ok, so kind of like openers? Not like 5x5 vo2 efforts, more like maybe 3x5min sweet spot?

ok for a non racer/pro just an avid cyclist to train 10 to 12 hours week year round? how much rest beeded for an amature fit cyclist to rest year round if 10 to 12 hours a week?
@TrainerRoad2 жыл бұрын
Hey, Annu. Yes, if you're an 'avid' cyclist you could probably benefit from the occasional rest week!

@@TrainerRoad i heard if you take rest than you have to catch up on that fitness you built? not avid i train year round all the time now going kin 2 years april

Of course you'll drop temporarily in fitness, but make greater gains long term! I've done fasted rides before and it causes me to be starving after the workout and then I over-eat. If you're going to fast then just don't workout, don't mix the two because I think it's useless.
@richardmiddleton77703 жыл бұрын
Fasted rides have to be strict zone 1-2 (6-7 zone scale), no going into zone 3 or higher on hills and no longer than a couple of hours unless your body is used to it.
