Yea, that was one of his best “technical” plays, along with the back heel shot and using Chigiri’s speed to drop him. That said I do agree Rin has him by a good bit but Isagi isn’t so far off that with Hiori, Kurona, and Kaiser’s help they can win the game. The issue is Isagi would usually see that as a loss so I figure it would have to be an insurmountable gap for him to feel good about having to team up with Kaiser. That said if he wins that way it keeps the rivalry interesting moving into U20 so reading into the narrative I could see a team win. Still feel like PXG wins but it’s 60-40 with that 2nd narrative path seeming possible if I squint.

I love how the author makes these team match ups. It's like the matches shows why they lost and what the player is missing and which match will lead to thier break through. Like Nagi going against FC barcha could help him with his creativity and turning 1 into 0 Isagi against pxg seems like its going to push isagi (1 on 1) whoes lacking that 1v1 ability considering, him going against Rin and his berserker mode. My only problem with isagi is he’s specs. It’s one thing to not be athletic it’s one thing to have an overall weak leg for a striker, it’s one thing to not be a dribbler but all of those combined? His technical and physical skills are far behind the pack 200 plus chapters in. I just feel like they should’ve given him a bit more to work with than still meta vision and direct shot. It doesn’t take a genius to run at the right time to get fed tap ins by elite passers. Compared to his rivals barou is elite in everything as a striker, Rin is the most technically gifted, Kaiser meta vision and predator eye and fastest shot. We know at this point the plot moves for isagi despite his lack of ability. Naruhaya was a struggle for him and now he’s making new gen 11 rethink their life. With marginally better specs. To be an elite pro you have to have more than just the brain. Messi’s footwork agility in tight spaces and simple dribbling is 2nd to none and he can score in a myriad of ways. Ronaldo’s athletic ability super long shots. Any elite striker today hallands power athletic ability, mbappe great speed and timing.I’m rambling and obviously this is fantasy but at this point in the manga I wanna see more from isagi than a perfect pass to the front of the goal for him to score. Of course there’s a bunch of box merchants that’s what strikers mainly but in his case teams will want to use him as a false 9 for his playmaking ability. And his willingness to defend.

I honestly realized that the only difference between Messi and Isagi is how they get through defenders, they're more similar than you think. Messi, goes on a solo run and gets past defenders by *dribbling.* Isagi, has a duo or trio and gets past defenders by *passing.* Messi and Isagi both share the same 'Impenetrable Ego' which means they never back down no matter what, they keep on doing the same thing until they break a hole in the enemy's defense. Messi and Isagi and also have the same vision, they analyze the defense and then altogether build a plan/strategy. Author probably didn't think this through but there's a chance that Isagi will realize his weak points like Dribbling, Shooting, Physicality and ultimately become the next Messi of Japanese Football. It's very much possible because Isagi is more of a Center Attacking Midfielder rather than you know, a striker or winger. Once Isagi completes his potential, he will probably be Ego's 'Perfect' Striker. (probably.)

Y'know I had a whole spiel but its a waste of time to explain it, just gonna summarize it and say its not gonna be a easy match for Rin. He's tunneled on working on his 'Berserker Mode' and chose a team where no-one can challenge him in a battle of 'Spatial Awareness'. He has to fight 3 metavisions, a man-marking Raichi and a newly awakened Gagamaru. Even IF Rin had 'Predator Vision' (and he doesn't), we've already seen Gagamaru catch those types of kicks to the goal with relative ease. Its not gonna be a easy match for Bastard Munchen either tbh. I could list the PxG team's abilities but thats too long, they have loki, Chapi(?), Tabito, Shido (wildcard), Tokimitsu (bro should've train with people that help him learn how to use his body better), Zantetsu (perfect choice to train with Loki), Nanase (who hasn't spent the needed time to keep up with the new isagi), Akira, Haruhiko, and Kento(?).
