Nothing beats the mountains and forests of Nagano but I’ve run in Sapporo, Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto(6 AM = no tourists), Hiroshima, Fukuoka, Oita and Miyazaki so can confidently say Japan is a great country for run tourism. Great video as usual Sota!

I've just landed in Tokyo and watching this whilst waiting through the super long immigration line... Hopefully see you out running over the next few days

I think the traffic lights are definitely the most challenging part of running in Tokyo, and you always have to be careful since a lot of people have their heads in smartphones while they walk these days. One good thing is that street smoking has mostly been eliminated, very different from Adelaide and Melbourne CBDs. You've probably already hit up these spots but in case not, there is a great horseshoe route around the Toyosu fish markets called Toyosu Gururi Park which has great views of Tokyo Bay and a lot of runners. If you start around Kachidoki you can get about 8km with only one traffic light, and of course the Rainbow Bridge is nearby, another great sightseeing run. Also on weekends the run from Shinagawa Seaside to Jonanjima where you can see the planes coming in overhead to land at Haneda depending on the winds is another rite of passage. Lots of cyclists on that route.

I've run a bit of Toyosu but don't think I've gone to Gururi park yet, and a lot of the other stuff you mentioned. As my mileage get's higher and I do longer runs, I'll make vids there too!

I love to see more vlogs of good running routes such as this and the one you did around Imperial Palace. If you do more of this, please create a Top 10 running routes in Tokyo. I am planning a trip in 2025 and itinerary includes running each morning and because of you, will add Imperial Palace, Yoyogi Park and the National Stadium to my list.

I love running in Japan, even Tokyo. Drivers are very respectful. The roads are super clean. I especially appreciate all the convenience stores for all the emergency bathroom breaks and Pocari sweat drinks.

When I was in Japan, I ran in Iga in the hills, heaps of elevation and very quiet. I didn't get a chance to run in Tokyo unfortunately.

I'd love to explore more outside Tokyo haha, we're in opposite boats

I'll be in Tokyo and Sapporo in January. Will it be too cold to go out for a run?
@SotaMaehara2 ай бұрын
February is colder! Jan is ok I’d say, if you look at my 100k run across Japan video, I ran most of that with a t shirt and that was mid January
