The main reason why the team played worse under Mike Brown is because MB was messing with the rotation. It's been said in a couple of interviews after the firing that they don't feel as pressured anymore bc Doug lets them play it out. Unlike MB who would immediately yank a guy off the court and DNP him the next few games. Secondly, the Kings are doing better bc Keon Ellis has a huge impact on the lineup. MB refused to play Keon, even though he brought the defense that he's been preaching.
@gus602112 сағат бұрын
Yup. Mike Brown was giving minutes to literally everyone. DC is not even playing Alex Len, no disrespect to any player but you got put your trust in the right hands and that's why Keon is getting a lot more minutes now.
@icee631917 сағат бұрын
Doug has been there shows he cares about the players and motivates them. That is what is pushing the team especially on defense and they don’t give up. They are going to be scary 💪🏼💯
@burningknuckle2612 сағат бұрын
He shows love and simplifies everything, he doesn't over practice and gives them enough rest and keeps legs fresh. The belief, the motivation was much needed. a breath of fresh air! Plays keon more too and dev carter
@Optimism21117 сағат бұрын
They aren’t practicing as much, saving their legs and Monk spoke to the Kings simplifying their offense as well as receiving more freedom to be creative offensively.

Keon Ellis is that glue guy you want on the team, no ego and just hustles every play. Him starting / 30 mins is a missing piece
@burningknuckle2612 сағат бұрын
Too many positives that he gives us to not playing him that much. he effects the game big time, his defense, rebounding, 3s, pressure all make a difference!
@mikelike387711 сағат бұрын
We still didn’t start him which is weird. Numbers prove he needs to start, one of monk or Deebo should come off the bench most likely monk
@kingssuk262117 сағат бұрын
Keon Ellis playing over 20 mins a night, brown refused to play him. Huerter mins way down. Rotations and just a vibe. Brown was wayy too technical. The offense wasn’t moving well at all. Devin Carter also in the rotation.
@Weather_Nerd14 сағат бұрын
Also not that it began right away but when Keegan came back from missing a game or two he’s been shooting over 50% from 3. Absolutely key to many of the wins. Fox and Domas have done what they should all season, would say mostly DeMar too but everyone else has been iffy and it feels like ALL are coming together and playing their best at the right/same time. Carter is a huge addition with the lackluster bench you’re right. Huerter even when not shooting well has actually defended well at times. Strange thing is Kings by net rating etc were a much better team than they showed all season but seemed gassed and unfocused to close out games and that has changed too. I imagine so many games we lost were close
@kingssuk262114 сағат бұрын
@ that’s true also our bench has dramatically been worse even with Malik on it. Keegan and huerter were both near 40% and them shooting only 30% made us lose a ton of close games.

"Them sitting at a 9 seed, that doesn't get you two guys in" - Literally last season Kings sitting safely at 5 all season, got ZERO All Stars, meanwhile LA Lakers.... in 9th... got TWO All Stars lol I love when we pick and choose when team record/seeding comes into play for the individual accolades. If it's a franchise or player ya love, who cares but if not, we'll find reasons for ya not to get it. Also we acting like 9th seed means something this year, look at the difference in games between 5th and 12th lol we're talking games on one hand differences. Shit I best not see anyone from the Suns be an All Star or Spurs with this logic.

🙄. If he’s 1, Fox and Derozan isn’t a solid 2 and 3? I’m not calling them a Big 3 but that’s a solid 3. We need a back up big that can rebound and defend the rim. Couple of more shooter wouldn’t hurt. This team is making the playoffs if they can stay healthy

@LivinProoof9 сағат бұрын
I'd call it a big three. The only reason they aren't called a big 3 more often is because it's sac and media likes to downplay and undervalue everything about this team. If fox was on the Lakers he'd be an all star every year.
@Potbelly7615 сағат бұрын
Mike Brown would consistently complain post-game that the team wasn't running his sets in the first few possessions. Seems like there was a clear disconnect

The Kings were top 6 last season by All-Star break & had no representation at All-Star weekend so clearly winning isn’t a priority when it comes to who makes it. They literally were the only team in both conferences that were in the playoff picture that didn’t have a single All-Star, that’s a travesty…

NBA teams should change coach like if the team goes on a three game losing streak 😄 Head coach needs to become the assistant. Just rotate it like that.
@edbrewington35 сағат бұрын
As a Kings fan, I don't want Fox or Sabonis to go to All-Star weekend. I'd rather have them rest and get healthy for the 2nd half of the season. The All-Star game is a joke and we all know it. Plus, players don't get enough time to take a break and rest. Not worth it.
@mellarx127711 сағат бұрын
Mike Brown is a "great coach", really? He cannot win it with LBJ then, some Lue won it all the following year. So, what does that tell you? Man your description of a "great coach" is low.
@thankyoucisco7616 сағат бұрын
Crazy how seeding only matters for us😂 last season LA Lakers were 9th and both AD and Bron made it😂 I mean Bron gonna get the popular starting vote but crazy that AD got it over sabonis. Granted tho LA made it further that year but that’s hindsight and up to that point Kings outplayed the Lakers and won 2-0 and sabonis was owning AD. I mean now we got swept and AD killing Sabonis and we in 9th this time. So we get two all stars like they did last year?🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼😂😂😂😂😂

Fox is by far the most talented. Sabonis is a work horse that uses his father's success as motivation. In terms of raw talent, fox is the most talented and when he's focused good luck. Imo that's his biggest issue though, focus throughout an entire game.
