Once a muslim asked me to speak with him in private after I made a lot of jokes (not nice ones tbh). He politely asked me to stop because in islam you can’t be friends with someone who mocks you constantly. Out of respect I stopped saying jokings about islam. Tbh these guys I know (muslims) are literally the most respectful people I’ve ever known. No joke they took care of me when my car got stolen and when I got fired of my job they gave me a place to sleep for literally 7 months. They made me dinner and breakfast and were very sad the day I left. Thanks to these muslims I’ve learned so much about respect, hospitality, religion & brotherhood. I'm a Christian and I fully support someones rights to make jokes about Christianity, especially if the person you're joking with is on the same page as you. But I think saying one religion should be off limits is pretty dumb and sorta disrespectful to all religions, including the one that is off limits. That being said, I do think it's the responsibility of those who practice a religion, to defend that religion if someone does try to actually discredit their belief. But I don't think that's what comedians are trying to do. Most of the time, the comedians are what you're laughing at because of their absurd view of something like religion, politics, culture, etc.

All of those are done peacefully and respectfully (even though I do admit there are a few Muslims out there who give us a bad name now and then). As for the blasphemy laws you've mentioned, they were put specifically in place to prevent any sort of disrespect towards our prophet (pbuh) and Allah (SWT). But I do understand your concerns as if right now there are many Middle Eastern countries (which are usually the richest) that would use such laws to imprison whom they believe as "disrespecting the faith" just to shut them and lock em up as fast as they can. The issue isn't religious, it's politics tryna ooze its way into Islam by corrupt leaders. yeah. you know someone means business when they do that. being hot and angry means you don’t have any plan for the future, just to be in the moment. more like, spur of the moment type of thing. but when you saw someone calm, not being angry talking to you in threatening yet no yelling or anything, you know they mean business. probably he already planned out what to do with you. just the thought of it is chilling tbh.
