Respected Sir I have observed that the closing rank for IAS in 2017 for general category was 105,in 2018 it was around 92 and in 2019 it was 77.So obviously getting into IAS has become much tougher.

If new reservations are being included then the govt should raise vacancies as well. In 2017 , last rank closing for General IAS WAS 105(980 vacancies) In 2018, last rank closing for General IAS was 92 (796 vacancies) In 2019, including EWS reservation, the last rank closing for General IAS WAS 77 (800+vacancies) God knows what will happen this time with only 712 vacancies + all reservations. A normal general category student woulf have to get a rank under top 50 to secure an IAS. For us it has become a complete game of luck.
