Spent so long living in self-hatred because of my adhd and not ‘getting’ life like people without it do. I never made any progress until i discovered and accepted my adhd

Just wanted to compliment you. An old video of yours popped up in my feed and I didn't get very far into it when I got frustrated because it was difficult to understand you because not only did you speak extremely fast, you didn't enunciate well. Instead of leaving a critical comment on that video, I decided to check out a more recent video. I see a HUGE improvement. So kudos! Still a little murky here and there, and the jumps are sometimes cut a little short, but this video is watchable for me. Will be watching more of your videos. (ADHD Dx last year at 61) GAH! PLEASE give us more than a split second to click on your recommended video at the end!

Very good info. I changed my diet to high protein in the morning and not eating a lot of sugar and I can tell a big difference.

Man.. I feel so lonely and sad especially after hearing this no one in my circle really understands my struggle and everyone seeing me as a lazy stupid person.. I know I'm not lazy and I know I'm not stupid.. I'm just sick dude.. It hurts.. So bad sometimes I even forget that I'm sick and start blaming myself like I did my whole life till I got diagnosed.. Even my doc barely knows anything about adhd but she just decided to give me meds and never cared about the side effects of it which was really hard for me.. I even stopped using them rn idk man I feel lost and lonely It hurts to be sick and no body gives a fuck and they just blame u like u can control it 💔

At least you have diagnosis, I nearly quit the game going on/off the ssri snri and sdri they prescribed really messed up my brain chemistry. Got gaslit and threw out of the practice after asking for an evaluation because "I'm the psychiatrist and I'm going to treat you for depression because I don't FEEL you fit the criteria for ADHD" years on wait list to be thrown out like trash after two months of compliance and honesty. Apparently, if you try really hard in elementary school and stay out of real bad trouble, your reward in adulthood is stigma as an adult male inattentive type and refusal for evaluation because you "got good grades" My buddy let me try his med and it was as if a heavy fog full of clowns marching bands and game shows had been lifted and I could do the first thing on the list. No euphoria, just satisfaction at the end of the night having completed a satisfactory number of tasks. My point is, it could be worse and at least it's your choice to take the medicine or not. And also you're not alone. I'm right here with you, everything you mentioned in your post. Just tried to play a game, got a crash, raged, then spaced out and twirled my mustache for half an hour then lit a spliff and went down this rabbit hole again. All automatic. I really need to do my laundry and take a shower. This guy has excellent advice on his channel for lifestyle modifications. Sometimes you just need to take a break from something... hang in there buddy! Oops just wrote this and noticed this post was from 4 months ago, sorry to necro but I hope your situation has improved, and if not here's a reminder that you're not alone

Doctor treated me with antidepressants and they made me sick. I told them im not depressed, and the more i learn the more apparent it becomes they stopped learning. It is a chemical imbalance, and i know that exercise is necessary and i want to do iti just cant seem to do it consistently, or really anything for that matter.

So I keep hearing that people with ADHD/ADD are low in dopamine, but how many folk diagnosed with ADHD/ADD have actually had their dopamine tested? 🤷‍♀

I've found that it does work, but it takes a long time, I try to make smaller changes regularly rather than big changes. Have a loving wife who helps me is key though, we need help. Not with the task itself, just with keeping us on track. I've been improving for years. Everything is still there, but I managed to actually finish school and dropped out of college but I'm still an engineer, luckily got a break from my current boss who saw that I wasn't an idiot, just forgetful, but holding me to a high standard while giving leeway is also very important. Also, amino acids and plenty of caffeine and weed, some people gasp at the self medication. But just keep in mind the medication I was prescribed by a doctor is essentially meth. Another super important thing and probably the most important is put yourself in situations that you thrive in, if there's something you love, see is there a job out there that actually suits ADHD. I'm an in field HVAC cqv engineer.

But why there is so much at this moment. It doesn’t make sense to claim that it was always there as ADHD is exploding more and more. We are doing something badly wrong in 2023 to have so much material abondance and so many mental health's problems.

I think the reason would be the Adderall shortage and the who make it, aren't doing it. (I hope you get what i mean since I'm horrible at explaining anything)

1st a Rebounder is THE ANSWER. I jump when bored, happy, anxious and before bed I jump a little.... I'm 52 and was in semi pro sports till 40 and now 52... Nothing compares to a Rebounder. It almost hypnotizes and unifies the body and mind, a reminder of a calm childhood. I give you my word as a healthy old man you'll thank me with all your heart once you discover its unique health qualities for yourself. It's the turnkey answer for ALL your clients you've been searching for.

WHAT?I hope this title is not accurate to the video. I have ADHD- (Diagnosed) and this is ridiculous. People with ADHD don't improve because they lack focus. Sit down in front of your computer, with all lights off, download a newsfeed eradicator and get to work. Anyone and everyone just needs the want to improve. Stop making excuses and get your butt to work. Get your sleep right, work on your relationships, and define what you actually want in life. Then start making it happen. Your ADHD is a super power and use it as an advantage and HYPER FOCUS on your work.
