I agree with everything you said... And you know what else I love? That SEVENTEEN incorporates sign language in their choreo sometimes. For example, in Pretty U when they say "neo yeppeuda" they do this move where they touch their faces (you know what I'm talking about, right). That move literally means "You're Pretty" in Korean Sign Language. And that was apparently Hoshi's idea. Damn, Hoshi is a genius! 💕

Everything you said is so true, I always been scared to actually express this idea of SVT being the best k-pop dance group because if we talk in 'technical' terms, obviusly BTS, NCT, EXO, MONSTA X, etc. they're such good groups. But as you said, SVT is special because they explore beyond the ordinary, the fact they use simple objects to complement their coreography is creative, they actually do freaking 'musicals' and my favorite thing about them is the use of contemporary dance. Hoshi and the other choreographers tries to explore member's tipes of dancing like b-boying, break dance, contemporary dance, edm dance, etc.THEY'RE ART FOR FUCK SAKE! And every single coreography they've done is equally appealing. We're not trying to diminish other groups effort, as matter of fact, we know they're really good. It's just an objective perception of what SVT do in terms of ART.

i've been a kpop fan for 11 years and i've been changing my fandom ever since. from suju, shinee, beast, infinite, exo, and now seventeen (changing fandom every 1.5-2 years lol im sorry fellow fandoms but this has happened to me). and i do like to analyse each group that i fond of, like really digging their music, performances, friendship, habits, characters, and so on to the point they literally taking half of my daily life to think about them (maybe some of you can relate lol). and i can say seventeen is the only boy group that has distinct style, which you had describe all in your video. because they always do their music and choreography by themselves, we actually can witness their progress of being artists, their progress of maturity, has been showned in their music. that's what i like the best about them. i always need something new and fresh maybe thats why im changing fandom so often. this year's gonna be my 3rd year becoming a carat and i do feel i'll spend longer time being in a fandom this time. (and im old so im wondering when i will be retired from all this kpop mess lol) anyway thank you for the video!

This video is a labor of love. Hope SVT can see and react to this. I'm an old lady who likes different k-pop boy groups. I like how you presented your defense. I like SVT because of the reasons that you mention. They are like Olympic athletes performing on stage. I wish them more recognition this 2018. I like a certain group because of visual overload, a certain member of a certain group because not just a visual that girl groups are scared to be next with, he's also a genius and is great in sports (recent gymnastics, relay, bowling etc.), and of course of a certain member of a 2nd gen group who is a star of the universe (rapper, singer, dj, mc, variety shows, fashion shows, product endorser, great in girl group covers and girl roles).

What an amazing and well thought out video. To be completely honest, I've enjoyed watching many groups in the past and I have been a kpop fan since 2011. When I first stumbled upon SVT's performance of Adore U, without having any intention to stan them or anything, I was mesmerized. Like you said, they had high energy without coming of as aggressive, they had youthful spark that did not come across as cheesy, they were literally a breath of fresh air. Later when I found out that they write and choreograph their own song, that's when it clicked. The reason why their choreo is so seamless with their music is because they were made together with each other. They did not write a song just to have a professional choreographer paste a choreography on it. But seriously speaking, Seventeen has spoiled my eyes too much. There are no weak links in Seventeen when it comes to dancing and they literally move together as one. No one is trying to outdo one another and everyone gets their time in the spotlight. All this while having 13 members. Nowadays, whenever I watch other boy groups my eyes can easily spot the weaker links or the best dancers in the group. Its like getting used to watching 1080p and all of a sudden it changes to 320p. Same content but different quality.
@asdayanafghjkleyo18296 жыл бұрын
honestly, other groups can do synchronization, execution and versatility. BUT all other categories that you said? NO. that's why a lot of people have a misconception of good dancing, they think it's solely based of the 3, but it has more to it just like you said, especially the invoke emotion, theatrical and no weak link, that's what makes svt special. surely they might not be the best on other people's eyes (outside fandom), but to those people they are truly part of the best of the best in this generation 💕💕💕

I ACTUALLY CRIED WHEN I SAW THANKS CHOREOGRAPHY FOR THE FIRST TIME. i’ve also been having trouble trying to describe how amazing the dance (and the song) truly is. but i think the best word to use, in my opinion, is raw. it’s such a powerful performance with such a meaningful message/song behind it, it’s a pure connection between seventeen and their fans, carats. it gives us a raw aspect of seventeen, no fancy addons, it’s really just their raw passion and emotion for music, performance, and carats. i think that’s why it’s not only my favorite choreography of all time, but why seventeen is my favorite guy group. other groups, although i’m sure love their fans just as much, aren’t necessarily able to show it the way seventeen can because someone else makes their songs and choreography. also thank you for not bashing on other groups while making this video, the message could’ve easily been misinterpreted to look down on other groups but you simply point out differences that support your opinion. thank you for that and this video!

If we look at the choreo for thanks nobody in the performance team helped him with that chore he came up with it with some of his dancer friends at another studio. But it you look at crazy in love (and from the preview of the 'thinking about you dance') you can tell it was mostly dino that came up with the dance. Hoshi comes up with the base of the dance (formations ect). I get what your saying since its not only him but from the information I get when I go to fanmeetings in japan I'd say he does the most of the work.

As an ARMY and CARAT, who stans two groups who possibly put the best performances, I wholeheartedly agree that SVT is the best dancing boy group followed by BTS in second (just my opinion guys). Every choreo of theirs is so unique and I will never tire of it. MY I, THANKS and LILILI YABBAY are my favourite because of how powerful and captivating they are. They make me emotional with just their choreo and the only group that has managed to do that is BTS. Also, I'm a MooMoo in process so they impressed me so much with their Decalomanie performance. I forgot I was watching a cover. I hope SVT also hits big in America too.

Maybe. NCT and EXO may have more 'impressive' kinda choreos but only SVT and BTS evokes emotions in me. Even BTS' hiphop stuff like Jump. They're just so captivating and not just a bunch of impressive moves strung together. That's why I said SVT and then BTS...because of how the choreos make me feel. Just a personal opinion, idk about NCT and EXO.
@anishasrikar49966 жыл бұрын
Completely agree with you in terms of difficulty. I like how this is a collective opinion. That in terms of emotions, it's SVT then BTS and in terms of technical difficulty it's SVT, NCT, EXO and then BTS. I think BTS choreos also seem way more impressive (even if they aren't the most difficult) purely because of performance and presentation (and vocals and rap of course). Like their MAMA and MMA performances are always so out and beyond haha. SVT is right up there too. The only reason I keep talking about BTS and SVT is because those are the only groups I'm stanning at the moment. Sorry if it feels like I'm not appreciating other groups. I just don't know much about them to say anything. But thanks for letting me know about the levels as per technical difficulty :)

This. OMG. You put everything that I'm thinking of in a video. Like even though I've seen the same performance multiple times, I'm still not bored of it. And even with the same song, there's countless remixes and variations, there's so much to see. And definitely about the emotion too. Especially with their newest albums, its more mature, and you can see the thought process. You can follow the progression of where they are at as musicians. And I love how the choreo has meanings and are theatrical, because I feel more engaged as an audience. I also love the relationship with their Carats. Its definitely a give and take relationship.

Man. I want to translate this bc it's so true! I'm tired of people not getting them the recognition that they deserve. They're choreographies are masterpieces, and they're not afraid to show us something completely different or new! That's something that deserves it. U literally say everything I wanted to say before, but I didn't know how. And with Hoshi... I know the other members help a lot (u should say that too) but, I think he is the most memorable here for his big influence. The way he express sentiments and different kind of emotions is really difficult, but he can do it! I don't care what other people say to me. But for me, Hoshi is the best dancer of the new generation, he should get an award for his choreographies lol. And I'm sorry, but nobody's gonna change my mind. Thank u for doing this video who only tells facts.

I totally agree! These are also the points I observed from SVT. I really like how their choreography adds to the overall energy and emotion of the song. You can also see their creativity in their choreographies. I really like how they can articulate different emotions in each of their songs through their choreography. And how they catch mistakes to make it look natural on stage. I’m a multifandom stan and in my opinion, SVT is, if not the best, then one of the best dancing idols out there. P.S. Thanks for the video. I like how you said that different groups have different styles and you didn’t bash other groups. This video is a video I didn’t know I wanted until I saw it. Hell yesss! I (not to toot my own horn) am somewhat a person who can kinda sorta dance. Seventeen just has the two factors that I admire the most in choreography, emotional expressiveness and difficulty in technique. Their choreography is hard enough for you to be impressed with all the gestures and movements (for the fans to enjoy) yet still has emotional freedom (for myself/seventeen themselves to enjoy) I legit cried when I first saw the choreo for Thanks. Especially at the ending part when they did the pinky promise gesture thing, showing off their rings. I just- to sum this up, seventeen is undoubtedly one of the best, if not the best boy group dancers.
