Yesterday I had an interview and I used the tips in all the videos you shared. I asked them 8 questions in the end. The thing that was the cherry on top I made them laugh couple times. I recieved a call 1hr 30min later, The recruiter told me the Interview went very well and they would like to continue with process and they want me for the position. I just have to pass the background check and bam it's mine. The position I applied for was a program assistant for a non profit organization that is world wide.

After working under an abusive boss in an extremely hostile workplace for about a year I had enough and walked out. Using your advice and my own good sense, I found another position with higher pay 😊 It’s only been three days working at the new place but no one has made any belittling/condescending comments towards me yet! Thank you so much for these videos. I answered my job interview questions the way you suggested and the following week they sent in an offer letter. I’m excited to learn more in my new position as the work actually seems interesting. Thank you 🙏

As a recruiter, that's the one piece of advice I hear online that I'm not crazy about when I encounter it in a candidate, which is when they ask me something to the effect of whether I think they're a good fit. For one, I probably haven't decided yet. If I had any grey areas of uncertainty about their ability, I have already asked my own questions to clear those up. But I'm going to review the entire conversation afterward and make a decision, I'm not going to commit to someone on the spot. And two, if I do know for sure that someone is not a fit, I don't want to lie and say they did well, but I also don't have the time to critique their responses and then wait for them to scramble in an attempt to change my mind. Just come to the interview prepared, give it your best, and follow up if you don't hear back in a day or two; don't use veiled questions to try and see if you passed the interview *during* the interview.

I interview a lot of very technical graduate people. The people I employ, earn money for the company and I expect to still be around when I revisit as a pensioner. It's is important that you get through this stage to see me because its actually very easy to then find the best candidate. This vid is good advice because first off you will meet HR. HR will have zero technical knowledge and have no idea what is involved in the role. They like to think they are in charge but are just advisors. They ask questions like this because they are the first ones that come up on google. However, they are the gate keepers to many companies and you will need to engage them at their level and get past them.

I got my dream job from watching all your videos ! They were impressed by the format of the questions I gave them. I felt it was half half of the interviewer talking and when I'm talking. More of a conversation style interview. One of the questions are mostly covered by the videos. But there was one question that was how do you deal with the stress of multiple deadlines occurring on the same day. When they asked why do you think your the best candidate for this position, the format from the video immediately clicked in my mind and they were impressed.

I heard a question at the end of an interview. I’ve never heard before the other day. The last question of the interview was if you don’t get the job, what will our company be missing out on I completely wasn’t ready for it, but I paused, gathered my thoughts and gave an answer between you and me. It wasn’t the best answer ever, but it was an answer. I’ll let you know if I get the job

How do you go from law enforcement to private sector. Non-profit organizations where you want to contribute to the community. Having a hard time getting a job while switching careers after 15+ years
@diannehortonpong13882 жыл бұрын
@SWEETHONEYONAROCK....I'm in the same boat as you. I did law enforcement (non-sworn fiscal, for Probation in No. California). Upon retirement, I went back to school for a Master of Public Administration (MPA). I started out after degree by doing volunteer work in 2 non-profit organizations to get background experience. Then moved from No. California to So. Idaho. I have been interviewing with multiple agencies here for almost 2 years. Today I interviewed for an educational non-profit associated with our local junior college and the state of Idaho in my previous line of work (fiscal accounting). Using my college education, non-profit work, solid accounting skills and Madeline's tips, may have just landed my dream job. My advice to you--DO NOT GIVE UP! Keep trying! Someone will see the value of your skills! (PS-I interviewed with this same agency 2 years ago this month and narrowly missed getting the same position, as I was headed out of town for a planned visit. Won't make that mistake again.) 2nd time is the charm!
