Criminology is a science of prevention. It is a science before crime is committed. Its an independent science. W have to define crime within the context of criminology to prevent it. We really have to protect the practice of criminology before we can move on. The law has no scope of criminological practice.

Here in Italy you have to get the university graduation and then get a PhD 😁but during the university years you can choose the subjects to specialize yourself, depending your university course (for example political sciences, law, psychology or medine) ❤️🎓

​@@grcmotosho if you cant finish the phd, you can work as a social worker specialized at university with the subjects you chose, ora as a criminal lawyer, as a sociologist, as a psychiatrist, as a forensic and pathologist doctor... etc. You can work as a criminologist and the main job (as I said), because you can specialize yourself during the university years with the optional subjects. You can also work for the Government and the Police. :D

I also had students who took criminology as their second degree. Most of them are now in the PNP, BFP, BJMP, PDEA, and other law enforcement agencies. Section 8 of RA 10867 enumerates the qualification of an NBI Agent, to wit: a. Citizen of the Philippines; b. of good moral character; c. A member of the Philippine Bar or a holder of a Baccalaureate Degree who passed the necessary government licensure examination relevant to the investigative functions of the NBI; and d. Successfully passed the competitive mental and physical examinations required by the NBI.
