Sinestro is one of my favorite supervillains. To me he's very smart, intelligent and brilliant character. I always was a Sinestro fan. And I always will. I collect DC MULTIVERSE 7 inch action figures and Sinestro is one of them.

DC is doing us real dirty by not giving us the Sinestro Corp storyline in some animated movie GL side of DC is this epic Space Opera rivaling that of Star Wars and yet with the exception of Green Lantern the animated series, First Flight and (kind of) Emerald Knights it is largely untapped also I agree with you on Villains you don't have to sympathize with them or they don't really need a relatable motive or some redemption arc you just need to understand them and where they come from I think that's the big reason why everyone love MCU Thanos so much they changed his character and motivations from the comics so they are simple and understandable but its everything beyond that which makes Thanos a villain and a monster and tbh I do prefer him myself over his character in comics who at his core is just a jerk who likes to mess with people and cannot handle rejection when a Girl says no even if that girl is basically Death itself personified but then sometimes I do love my occasional full on baddies who are evil for the sake of being evil like Darkseid who is just so irremably evil regardless of the version or continuity

Yes completely agree! The green lantern Mythos is huge after what Geoff johns did and I can’t believe it either that we haven’t had some version of it but I hope James Gunn does it. You should go watch my green lantern pitch video which explains how I would do it. I never thought of it as an equal to Star Wars but now that I think about it, it definitely can compete. Also I love thanos in the mcu way more than comics as well. His motive was much better. I like me a good villain from time to time who is just evil for the sake of being evil as well. Great example is the joker. That’s literally his thing. No rhyme or reason for anything he does. He’s chaos incarnate and that’s what drives Batman mad. He can never figure him out because he’s just purely evil and unpredictable

6:05 There's also the fact the Guardians, the ones who created the Green Lanterns, are just corrupt the tyrants they oppose, with their actions being responsible for the creation of many of the Green Lantern villains like the Manhunters and Atroccitus and the Red Lanterns. Makes sense someone like Sinestro would turn against the Corps after noticing this fact, seeing the Guardians trying to stop him as an act of hipocrisy,

Sinestro is honestly one of my favourite DC villains/comic book villains. He's a complex and incredibly well-written character, representing the antithesis of everything the Green Lanterns represent. To an extent, Sinestro is somewhat correct in his motivations since you can really argue that in a world entirely full of mad alien tyrants like Darkseid or Mongul and ruthless killing machines like the Manhunters, insane maniacs like Lobo or universal threats like the Anti-Moniter, will always be able to stop them and sometimes fear can be the best motivator to instil justice, though with Sinestro its misguided justice, not true justice. However, the idea of Sinestro instilling fear to create peace is something that he and Batman have something in common? If anything, the Guardians of Oa are more of the villains than Sinestro is, considering all the messed up things they've done? Sinestro is such a fascinating villain that he deserves more time in the spotlight and attention. His downfall is written like a sci-fi Shakespearean downfall, kin to Anakin, Count Dooku's downfall or Macbeth's downfall to madness. I really hope he someday makes a live-action debut in James Gunn's DCU and has his character done justice to really take the character down a multi-film character arc, going from an ally to slowly falling to become an enemy and even going on a redemption arc of sorts studying his character, motivation and relationship with characters like Hal and Abin Sur.
