This was fantastic. The noise of a skateboard cruising along some concrete is very calming in a way.

My 360 disc reader is finally crapping out on me, and since the SKATE franchise was a console only release, I've emulated them on my PC recently. It's taken me on a wonderful trip down memory lane, and I can't believe Skate 2 is 13 years old. Excited to see where the franchise is taken and if they'll improve on the analog control skating like Session or Skater XL have done. The simplicity of the single analog stick controlling your tricks was nice, but the complexity of Skater XL offers more of a rewarding feel when completing the most basic trick.

They are all backwards compatability for the Xbox series that's how i play them now! Also im not a fan of session or XL I think that "indie" jank makes them feel so floaty, that it's effect the feed back and weight.

Skateboarding will always be there for anyone in any culture, from any back ground.

This reminded me of all the gaps and stunts i saved on my 360 like coffining through a tight spot or all the fun i had downloading custom maps in skate 3 great vid btw

The Castlevania music summoned me. Love this, there's so much positivity to come out of these Skate games. We love to see it x

Man, I played so much THPS that I doubt I could ever get into Skate. I super appreciate it being a more realistic, skating-focused skating game, but I'm so hard-coded to the arcade-combo style of the original THPS. I've played Skate 3 for a little bit and it was well made, but I was struggling a lot 😂 But I remember the Skate hype back when it came out! I was playing Tony Hawk's Proving Ground as others were trying the original Skate, and I was always curious to try EA and Black Box's take on the sport. Maybe I will again someday!

It's definitely not everyone's cup of tea, but that's the point, it's good to have so many different takes on the genre for sure!

Absolutely, 100% agree

This video is good, but it also makes me even more afraid of how EA could tarnish its legacy with the new entry

Considering the current state of skating games I would say it definitely doesn’t matter. It was relevant In it’s time but had 0 impact on skating games.
