I love my Enyaq 85, but the lack of connectivity features makes me regret the decision of buying one. The lack of transparency of the changes between major versions and the lack updates is an embarrassment for the company. Not to mention the reliability of their services is a joke. Getting the Offers app instead of something more meaningful and useful proves that the orientation is B2B instead of B2C business model. Thank you for being the voice of the community. I’ve tried multiple times to get in contact, but all I got is dead air.

Great video, very detailed and precise! Really good job Matthias! First time I comment but have watched all your videos for 1,5 years. I have an appointment at my dealership in 2 weeks time and think of pushing that video to my dealer just for them to understand. Although I love driving my Enyaq, I'm thinking of moving out of Skoda at the end of my leasing.

Sorry but I hated the software in my tesla. They kept messing about and changing the interface of my car, often making it worse. I absolutely hated it. The latest change has led to a whole load of people complaining on social media about the changes tesla made. You hit the nail on the head saying tesla is a software company not a car company. They struggle with the car side, that's why the build quality is often so poor and why things like cruise control, auto wipers and Bluetooth functions aren't up to the basic standards offered by car companies. If you could combine tesla software expertise to with Škoda car expertise you'd have a winner. As it stands neither is getting it right. But I would never ever buy another tesla. I did just buy a second enyaq. The software may be imperfect but at least my doors and windows close properly.

Has anyone managed level 4 yet ? Even tesla hasn't done that yet. The latest changes don't work on cars with the older processor. Is this for the future for all manufacturers or have some of the Chinese managed it?

Sorry to keep bringing up tesla but the model year changes also happen with them but it's not as defined as model year. When I got my tesla it had a major incompatibility with some evolt rapid chargers, the most common units on the chargeplace Scotland network. There were so many users complaining, the charger network started to investigate. They found that it was hard to resolve because there was a variation in hardware within the model 3 even within a year. So my 2020 model 3 could not charge but others from a few months later could....they couldn't work out why because tesla were varying the components but would not explain what they had changed. So it seems there still is no perfect car company.

Don’t be sorry. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on Tesla’s software. It’s good to know that Tesla is far from being perfect also. However, in the Uscale report Matthias mentions, Tesla gets the highest recommendation score of all brands (71%) of people driving it. Skoda gets an “average” score of 41%.

@@RicoD5 I found the software dangerous, my car would do emergency stops on the motorways and would regularly swerve to avoid imaginary obstacles. Tesla just said "the software is in beta". 🤔

I am a Driving Instructor and the previous VAG models use to have a DrivingSchool function available to code in the infotainment system. That made it easy to switch on when you had to use the car for work and turn of when not working. I hoped that this function was available on the new Enyaq since I am looking to switch my Audi A4 2015 to man Enyaq RS

Outstanding video, thanks Matthias; It's very detailed, professional and especially unbiased. I hope Klaus Zellmer and Oliver Blume either watch this or someone on their staff start to talk to them in these terms and make them realize the business model change it needs to be done. Change and transformation are always a challenge, but most of the times are a must if you don't want to be left behind. One question... what is the reason for the overlaid text on the screen "Advertising video" , but I don't think this is an ad, just objective observations, evaluations and opinions... Thanks for your passion. (Enyaq 80 2022, +30'000 km)

advertising is because he got a logical discount on his car is this one an for some vidieo's he has affiliate links that he clearly mentions what is great
@electrifiedspeicher
@electrifiedspeicher 3 ай бұрын
Thanks for your feedback, I really appreciate it! The reason for the overlay is due to certain regulations in certain countries when and what needs to be clarified as advertisement. Since I cannot cover it for all countries one could watch the video I put the overlay on every video. There are two reason for that: - I got a discount on the purchase price of my ENYAQ from Skoda with no obligations on it. Therefore my content is not compromised. But this could be seen as paid advertisement because my car is a central component of my videos. - I have affiliate links in my video description (they are marked as that) and I sometimes show and/or mention those products in my video. Again this could be seen as some sort of infomercial or advertising. Also none of the above would be a violation in my home country Switzerland I simply want to be on the safe side :)

Was waiting for a video like this, very well done Matthias! I agree with you, the hardware is the biggest problem for the software implementation! To start a car it should be able to do what is should do: Drive! But when the main screen is blacked out you don''t drive. And I use my smartphone via Android Auto for navigation with Waze (Beta-user). When i want to park my Enyaq VRS (23 model software 3.7) i must wait for the image to show up... 🙄 That sometimes starts me thinking, are the parking sensors working already when i start to drive. Pretty much the basics to depend on when you want to start driving or want to park quickly. As you rightly point out Skoda should not pursue the software from a competitor. On the other hand why develop something when someone else has already perfected it? Yes you won't beat them at that game but you can learn a lot from that. Question: Should selected Enyaq owners be able to participate in Beta testing for specific software applications/updates? (Like Waze does via social media platform and open communication) (Sorry didn't have enough time to view you video completely. Will do so later... keep up the good work! 👍

Thanks for your detailed feedback. In my opinion selected ENYAQ owners should have a chance to take part in some beta program as far as legal regulation allow it. If not possible Skoda could still invite them to review a beta virtually.

KZbin etc in cars seem like a nice functionality. However, when I see something like that, I always think about my old Samsung TV that now functions as a dumb monitor on the playstation. The smart tv functionality quickly stopped being usefull as one app after another stopped working as it was "no longer supported". Cars are supposed to live longer than TV's or smartphones. I foresee a lot of fancy Chinese cars that will have a "bricked" infotainment system a few years down the road.

In one of ur videos, u put a link to a skoda website, where your could see the production variations depending on what period the car was produced. Can u give me link on this comment, if u can remember what link im reffering to ? :)

Another great video Matthias! Well worth watching it fully 👍 Your in-depth analysis shows where the structural flaws are with VAG and Cariad. As I have commented in previous videos, Skoda (VAG) sells cars and forgets the needs of the customers. “EOL” as you say. I a way, we are also End Of Life as far as Skoda is concerned. Like we don’t exist anymore after the sale. Skoda is and will always be an old fashioned car manufacturer. On their behalf I must say that ME3.0 to ME3.7 is a bit of an improvement (bug fixes/stability). But the hardware is still soooo slow, Laura still doesn’t understand anything I say, no preconditioning of the battery and navigation is still awful. So I use Android auto all the time. VAG and Cariad should really listen to your opinion on the crAPPS they’ve developed. They make me angry also. Stop putting man hours in this idiotic nonsense! Focus on what customers ask for. You have reported numerous times on what needs to be improved.

I have found one with 3.7 when using Android auto and getting any voice instruction from google maps after that the volume control doesńt work anymore on the radio, it only works for the navigation instructions, the only way I have found to make it work again, besides restarting the car, is to use Laura and ask her to increase the volume, then it works and I can use the volume controls in the steering wheel again for radio/audio

Nothing is perfect also in a Tesla. Apart from missing pre-heating most of the complaints are not linked to any hardware but software only. Navigation UI is crap and old-fashioned on ME3. Charge planning is crap (filters not working etc or limited). I see no reason why a MY2023 cannot be updated for UI as this is not hardware related. Crap apps traffication really annoy. For these reasons I am using Carplay apps like ABRP/Google Maps etc.

I have plenty of reasons to buy the Skoda over Tesla - 5 decent sized seats instead of 4. A decent sized and more importantly practical trunk - the tailgate hole shape and size is much better. I don't have that silly great screen in the middle, and I have my instruments where I need them . The ride is much better, and to be honest the range is just as good, there's a proper dealer network with support, build quality is a whole other level than Tesla... need I go on? (oh, and I have a fundamental problem with Elon as a person so why should I support him? :) Lastly for my screen... no I don't need anything other than a radio, and the capability to stream music from my phone, and a map. Anything else is unnecessary for driving. Maybe some more power ports for the kids in back so they can watch their own things on their tablets or laptops. The less distractions for the driver, the better. The one exception is please give us one button to turn off the stupid internal lighting for good and not have to keep turning it off again every single time there's a 'user settings update do you want to apply it now?' message! and one button to turn off lane keep assist and all the other driving aids that are so slow to react that I already fixed it and move to the next thing.. the one time I actually needed stability control, it did not even trigger.. fortunately I managed to sort it out myself - but it triggers all the time when it is not needed. etc etc etc PS... on British potholes (the roads are fewer and less easy to find than potholes and bumps) I would much rather have a physical dial or button to push than a software button, especially as I can only touch the screen a few times before it locks up and tells me to concentrate on the road... a button I can physically feel, or navigate past, without looking at it, is much, much better from a driver workload and concentration perspective. This is basic Ergonomics and Human Factors ... something that is seriously lacking in current infotainment design... Car builders seem to think Human Factors only applies to seating position and major controls today... well the software needs proper development too starting with the user.. and the decision on software versus hardware controls needs to follow a defined software tree... otherwise it will have to be done with legislation to ensure drivers are focused on the road. Future (always in 10 years from now) full self driving with reliable road sign recognition and GPS etc is not going to happen - My Enyaq was confused by starting in a car park and the map and car thought I was 15 miles away in a 35kph limit, so with the new speed limiting tech, it would have tried to slow me. In actual fact I was on a 110Kph dual carriageway road where that would have been incredibly dangerous. There is a huge amount of work still to do before the cars are ready for this, and until it is, if I have to electrify my 2010 Saab 9-3 and run it with NO software, then I am happy to do so!

i bought enyaq vrs late 23 which has ver 3.2 software , am really happy with the car , only thing i cannot understand is purchased ohme home pro charger ( which skoda promotes ) and in the ohme app it will not accept the skoda api so the ohme app cannot see the cars battery level , and have to set the ohmi to say put 10% or put 30 % in ... have spoke to ohme and they know its not working and also spoke to skoda uk customer service and they say there api will not work either ? i said how come ? you promote that charger , surely you must support it ? but no and dont know when it will work . so skoda sells an electric car but no electric charger is compatible with it? thats mad .................. they did not tell me that when i bought the car ..........

Nice video, But very generic The tip for skode and VW is just change your company model to improve on software. Now not even a phone is on level 4 you always have functions that ar not possible on an older version phone or a cheaper new phone.

The main tip for them is not changing the company model but to decide where they want to go...there is no need to become a SDV company with level 5, you can stick to 2 or 3 but be consistent and clear about it. The main tip is starting to observe and talk to their customers to get a better and deep knowledge of their needs and their jobs to be done and than think about how to deliver this.
