This has really confirmed what God is calling me to in this next season of my life. I don't know how long it is going to last, but I've actually been a little bored. The Lord has been compelling me to complete a couple of bible studies, pray more consistently, and create a warmer and more intentional environment at home. They didn't seem BIG enough or grandiose enough for me to settle into it, but this podcast has encouraged me to take advantage of this mental downtime to nestle into His lap and complete some home-work for me and my family. Amen.

I just caught the last 4 minutes of the live. WOW! You just preached to me! My small thing is going to work every day. I’m a kindergarten teacher for the last 20 years (30 total) and I just feel defeated. I love my students but if I knew of something else to do, I’d run to get there. God called me to be a teacher so I keep pushing through. But this feeling of defeat is strong. Thank you so much for these Coffees! ❤️❤️

God bless you for doing that important job and for respecting what you feel God gifted you to do. Praying for discernment and encouragement from the Holy Spirit in your life. Perhaps God has something else for you that is not the traditional school setting or not in the exact role you currently fill. If you feel defeated, there's a reason. It could be the enemy, or it could be you just going through a rough spot, or it could be a sign it's time for something different and you really have outgrown your current role. Do "small things" that make you feel alive again, things that bring you joy and refill your cup. They will either alleviate the defeat as you get a needed release or lead you to the next adventure God has for you. God bless you sis. You'll figure it out.

I teach the Women's Sunday School Class at a small rural church. I only have one woman, sometimes two, who show up with any consistency. After working a number of hours to prepare each lesson, I get discouraged that more do not attend and that my class is so insignificant and often overlooked in comparison to other classes in the church. I know the recognition of other people is not what is important, but I still get discouraged. Thank you, Chrystal, for your ministry! I have only been watching your videos for a few months, but the Lord has been using you to encourage me even in difficult times.

Wow! This has really been a wonderful word! Thank you so much. My dad passed away in November and I find myself just going through the motions-I don’t really want to do anything or go anywhere or be around anyone. “When you show up for the small things it shows you who you can be, regardless of your circumstances”, I realized that even though I don’t want to do any thing or go anywhere, GOD is continuing to give me the strength I need to show up for my husband and our family, to show up for work. Thank you and God bless you for this timely lesson on the Small Things.

Sorry to hear about your dad. I lost my mom in October and I understand what you’re saying about only having strength to show up for your family alone. I want to encourage you, keep doing that. Please don’t feel bad if you don’t want to see anyone at the moment, you need time to heal. After my mom passed, I felt naked, exposed. There was no strength to even take calls from people. Somehow it felt like the enemy was winning and I did not have the strength to fight him anymore… but God!!!! To even think I can smile and laugh out load is a miracle, it took a lot of prayer and fasting but God did it. I pray the same for you Karen, may God heal your heart completely.

@@mabongikhoza thank you for your kindness, encouragement and prayers. It does feel as though the enemy is winning right now. I struggle to focus on any one thing. I want to do my vision board, but have trouble just focusing on getting it started. I still need to make thank you cards for the generosity of all those who visited during the planning of his burial. I don't even know what to pray for. My God, help me.

This is so good! It brought to my remembrance of one of my college jobs - filling/refilling the vending machines on my college campus. A job I actually loved! Now my company has begun to provide the books to fill vending machines for a school district. You are correct God uses our experiences as I am able to assist with suggesting great K-5 books that will ALSO fit in the coils of the machine - small things :-).

I've signed up to a course in Lace Wig Training and I've realized that I was two weeks behind d on my ventilating, the process of placing. 1 to 2 hairs into individual holes in lace for wig making, frontals, etc. My issue was that I was so focused on hurrying up to catch up that I missed the "little thing"- just go at your pace and eventually you will finish. Thanks for the micro message.

“Small great things” thank you for this reminder Chrystal. I’m one of those that have served different people and institutions for a long time, and hope to see the same being done to me. This year, together with my husband are trust for four couples , who will not only want to learn from us but to serve the purposes of God with us. I have complained to God about the lack of diligence and commitment I see around young ladies and it breaks my heart, sometimes I wish I had a mini me to show up for me. In the past, I thought it was pride, but I’ve since accepted that it’s about a level of excellence that I wish for myself and for others. Anything less is not worth doing. I guess the little thing that I do consistently is preparation. I feel like my whole life has been a preparation for something more, so I take everything I do seriously.
