To every person out there who calls India traitor for buying Russian oil, i want to tell u that :- 1. India's GDP per capita is only 2270 USD approx. Which mean an average person earns only 2270 USD a year in India. 2. If oil prices stay high for like 100 USD and suppose an average Indian uses 10 barrel oil a year, oil cost for each Indian could be 1000 USD. 3. Now u all tell me how are we suppose to feed ourselves if we pay 1000 USD out of 2270 USD only on oil ?? We will die with hunger if oil prices stay that high. 4. We Indians consider USA as India's great friend and reliable partner but u all have to understand that we Indians are buying Russian oil for our survival and not bcoz we support war. You forget the fact that besides aiming to be a manufacturing hub, India is ALSO a big market in and of itself and getting bigger. Vietnam and other South East Asian countries will definitely add manufacturing capability, but they can never have a big market by themselves. India can produce, export, and consume. I have never thought of the Chinese as having much respect for life, pretty much because they are so overcrowded and don't seem particularly spiritual or human-centered. They come off pretty stoic to me; I worked for a Chinese import company and that's how they come across. Lots of cultures are very nationalistic, including western nations, Israelis, arabs, the Russians and Asians. The Japanese were but we all know what just happened to them in 1945 and they haven't yet gotten over it quite yet. Turns out they, llike most islanders, found out how big the world really is. Islanders can isolate themselves, we we Americans have in many ways too so far from Eurasia. That can happen to anybody if they (and we) aren't careful!

Beacuse India is the only other country that can compete to China's manufacturing and those companies move to India because to exploit the cheap labour market. Indian governments must make a mandatory strict standard, law that any foreign companies or any company who is selling to foreign must pay each of the workers at least 1700 India Rupees per Hour. Those companies want nothing but to exploit the cheap labour market.

@Subheer Arora that is the fair price for workers they have been exploiting workers for $8 per day for 16-18 hours continuous work, they use contractors and then blame contractors for doing so but in reality they are the ones who pay less in first place, they want more stuff made, in cheap price and in more quantities. India must do something about this and set minimum, strict stardard for foreign companies or companies who take contracts from foreign companies. Said 1700 Rupees because I am furious about how they exploit and then blame their contractors for doing so, 1000 Rupees is a good standard for the worker who work that hard, and all those workers deserve it.

They quit China due to trendy political pressure and will come back to China. India made a lot of efforts but still insufficient to reach a respectable level. India is 20 years behind in terms of infrastructure and 30 years in skilled workforce. Corporations are responsible for the human factor of the working class and its social problems. India's management has a big problem with "TRUST". In general, business practice is shaky, unreliable, and dishonest. On paper, India looks good. In real situations, India is very risky. Try and you'll learn from first-hand experience. Long way to go. If you want to make money, China is a good choice. Problems do exist but they are manageable.

Why aren't the Indian authorities and business circles trying to bring the projects going to Southeast Asia to India? I am sure mass manufacturing in India has it's own advantages. Plus it's easier to focus on manufacturing in a single country than expanding into 10 different countries in the ASEAN. I mean Vietnam is definitely not a bad option and has hard working people plus cultural similarities and logistical proximity to PRC but I don't see much reason in investing in yet another communist ruled and politically unstable country. Also, the skilled labour in Vietnam is atleast 3 times as expensive as India as far as the statistics are concerned. Probably these MNCs want to observe India's productivity and reliability a few years fisrt before gaining trust.
