Depends scherzer don't add his number during signings but ip he puts the right number every time altuve sig looks really bad when mlb does a signing but ip he gives a very nice graph so it really depends u have to do research

I'm guessing because of contracts they are under because signing in person and through the mail for free undercuts the sales of the stuff they sign for memorabilia and card companies. Everyone puts a dollar sign on their signature now and they don't want to give it away for free as a result.

@@MrDodger3222 Could be, but there's a lack of consistency for that to be completely true. You see top players like Giannis, Luka or Jokic who sign pretty regularly in-person. If companies had their way, they would be obligated not to do it.

What I do personally is if the guy does not know how to sign his name, I will not collect or pay for it. It is disrespectful by the athlete. Vote with your consumer dollar

Depends who it is. Could be a couple hundred to close to a thousand.

@@PowersSportsMemorabilia I see. I would think that the bigger the star, the more items there will be per signing. Since Jose Canseco is a big baseball star and does a signing like every week, he must sign at least 30,000 autos a year!!

I recently have been into collecting memorabilia and autographs for almost a year and have some NFL jerseys and such. My question is how do I know the overall value of my item and if the item that I have is authentic ? Because I am aware a not authentic jersey can decrease the overall value. Great video keep it up man.

You can check what stuff sells for online. For authentication I use JSA but you can also use PSA or Beckett.

Not necessarily. They just have more time at signings and are generally sitting down. Can give a better quality at that time.

@@PowersSportsMemorabilia I get it since autographs will be better quality when signing on a table and the athlete tends to take signing more seriously when being paid. But I heard LeBron for example that he never gives anyone his Upper Deck signature in person.
