During COVID India and South Africa went to US block and asked for temporary moratorium on Covid vaccine intellectual property payment to protect world poor, Germany vetoed the proposal. During cold wars in the past and and ongoing wars, India faced immense pressure from different countries to pick the side, but India did not buckle and played important role in preventing the world economy going into the recession which could have impacted lot of small and medium countries whose economies were already struggling. Why should countries picking side if they have one same goal?

Every analysis from Bloomberg is obviously extremely biased, but it's true there is a group of countries which don't want to get involved in someone else's wars. But the reasons might be quite different from one country to another, always depending on internal and external factors. And these factors may vary from uncertainties related to economy and geopolitics to social, demographic, cultural and historical issues, not disregarding the military condition of each country... It's quite a complex analysis to consider only the external potential investment to choose a neutral position or any kind of alignment.
