Make a ballistic shield. Make a large bullet-proof shield, hold on one arm and gun in other, advance with shield and gun while firing accurately from the safety behind your shield. Make a small notch on the side of the shield where you fire for your gun or rifle to rest and give you more protection. I know I made a word salad, but I've thought of these scenarios many times, and I expect to fight with gun and shield.

Fall back behind the vehicle for cover then run about 25 meters the other way down the road before heading up to high ground and then coming around to ambush the ambushee's. In fact I wouldnt even stay on the high ground, I'd come around that hill up behind them. That high ground is still in their cone of view. Their focus is the truck, if you come up behind them you'll still have surprise to your advantage. Now not making a ton of noise sneaking up though the woods is another story. Everyone wants to think they're ricky recon but anyone can break a random stick and give away your position. It might work it might not. No guarantees in life. 🍻🇺🇲

Now I've got another bunch of scenarios to run through my mind as I enter and exit my property. Worth thinking about for sure. One thing to remember is that unless you have an adversary who has any kind of experience, this would be a much less thought-out attack (on the part of the enemy). Probably very chaotic.
@SonnyCrocket-p6h3 ай бұрын
if shtf, you can't use roads, even on foot, and you can't use 4 wheeled vehicles. If you're properly prepped you dont need to do either one. If your food and most gear is already buried at your BOL, which is in the woods near your local water source, you can just walk beside a laden mountain bicycle, towing a bike trailer and get to your BOL, at night, in 1-2 nights. with pre buried, empty 20 gallon drums in place, you can quickly protect and hide what you brought with you. with an empty hole on a hillside, with a drain/slit and a pile of brush over it, you can take apart the bike and trailer and hide them very well. You'll probably need them in a couple of years, so having cosmoline on the metal parts and plastic sheeting over them is a good idea. So is having treated log-splits buried in the area, for use as shoring. That will speed-up your tunneling and make it much less noisy. A couple of L shaped milsurp flashlights, with red lenses and an # of 1/8" wide black tape on the lense enables you to barely see where you're walking. If you keep such a light pointed at the ground, it wont be noticed at 100m in brush, or 1/4 mile in the open. You only need 1 ft of dirt over your tunnel, so it can never collapse and smother you and you can always just dig UP and out. Nobody's going to be so suicidal as to enter your tunnel, man. I"d dig the tunnel from both ends, starting in spiderholes that you already have created.. Then you can swiftly get out of sight/protected once you're at your BOL. this idea of walking around in daylight is stupid and traveling by car is even dumber. all it takes to stop cars is 1" thick wood and 3" long nails, which anyone can pull out of any wooden structure. You wont be going far or fast on 4 flat tires. So they will just follow you and dummy you, you wont have the gear or knowledge to move out or survive with just what you can carry.

Fun thought experiment, I think the first thing I would try is punching it forward trying to get out of the area because backing requires slowing and then stopping in the kill zone. If the vehicle becomes disabled then I want to run downhill because I can move faster and my goal is to break contact and I first concealment because more readily available then full blown cover. I can only see this for more of a 1% chance of things where its one large organized force is in conflict with another and I am just a citizen caught in-between. For the most part theft of resources would be like a home robbery of abandoned houses or thought to be abandoned locations.

If you are lone wolf’ing it, then I see your dilemma, but with a community you have options. If you have 10-20 men moving, they can always move on the high ground from the ridge tops, making sure no one is camped out for you…. I always believe in going for the high ground, so if you have multiple vehicles moving along, spaced out strategically, then everyone should focus on a 50 yard wide point at the top, around the middle of their convoy, and work inwards towards it without being obvious…Just like Napoleon. Once a piece of high ground is secured the flanks can be folded. This situation is very hypothetical, and much depends on man power, comms, etc…Definitely much to think about and consider. I, too, am in north GA. Thanks for all you do.
@SonnyCrocket-p6h3 ай бұрын
if it's shtf, WHY would you take the risk of being out and about in daylight? dont make noise and dont use a normal light at night. There are ways to proceed, with the risks of being shot GREATLY reduced. If you've duc a tunnel to hide in and a year's supply of food scatter-buried at your BOL,, you only need to emerge for an hour per night, to access a food bucket and cook a meal. A year after shtf, 99+% of the population will be dead. That will make it a lot safer (at night,) to tend your crops., In another year, (at night) it will be much safer yet to go scrounge whatever you need. For the first few months of shtf, it's going to be suicidal to be up and at em in daylight.
