I would pay extra to use Sony flashes if they had built-in triggers in the cameras. Maybe some day.

And when they advertise them, they make it sound like they are wireless without remote trigger. A bit misleading.

I have amazing results with Profoto and the Profoto Connect Pro for Leica - but for Sony the color and TTL can’t be beat with their latest flashes.

I think you will be really happy with any of the newer models. They not only have respectable TTL but the color for skin tones really is a step above third party options. (Just don’t go overboard on buying rechargeable AAs like I do. 2 sets will cover you).

Thanks for advice. About to finally buy a flash for my R7V and really was confused, as not used a flash for many, many years. Now 46 or 60?
@kaskoPhoto
@kaskoPhoto 21 күн бұрын
Well the 46 is lighter and smaller and the 60 has power and unique benefits. But the 46 can handle most on camera flash jobs and handheld flash work.

Thank you for your reviews on the Sony flashes especially for the Sony HVL-F28RM in another video. Your reviews and example shots helped make my decision easier. I've been looking for an on-camera external flash for my A7C to use as an on the go outdoor fill flash when I am traveling. Most reviews overwhelming recommend Godox tt350s (I would love to see a side by side comparison with the Sony F28RM).

The first thing I want to know about any flash is the power supply. I thought it was very strange (suspicious) that Sony never mentioned power anywhere on the product webpage. I watched this video and sure enough - "double A's". I don't know the technical reaosns why Sony chose double A, but I know they are being deceiptful by hiding it. And that's why I'm not buying this product. That's a shame, because you did a great job of selling me on the benefits.
@kaskoPhoto

I do get it - I love the power packs. But I like the consistency and reliability (when I’m shooting sony) so that’s why I choose their flashes. For everything else I like the Profoto A1s A10s (hate the price)

Hey John, I want to ask your thoughts on lighting for a sec. I currently have the xplor300 pro, an ad100 pro and a V1. I’m trying to decide on either a second ad100 pro or another xplor 300 pro. Any thoughts on this?

As much as i love power, it depends on what and how you shoot. If you are a studio shooter and like the 5.6 range and above, i’d go with the 300. But if you like shooting below 5.6 all you need is another 100

John - when would you use your Sony on a job, as opposed to the Leica 11, or even the Blad? I mean. if you go to a fast moving event (dancing etc), would you take the Sony for the AFC? How do the files of the Sony stack up against the Leica FF?
@kaskoPhoto
@kaskoPhoto Жыл бұрын
It is on a client by client bases for commercial work. The jobs coming up, I’m required to provide many images of each subject in a moderately moving situation (sorry to be so vague) So this is when the Sony will be used. The client wants straight documentation vs artistic images. The Sony makes that job easy.
