South Korea and the Philippines has one of the greatest strategic partnerships across Asia. Sharing their very culture, military alliances, and tech products. But, can South Korea outshine the country's largest allies such as China and Japan? Let us know down below!

My deepest thanks and admiration to the Korean People. I am a Yolanda Survivor. I remembered that the Korean Army helped our communities in rebuilding our region. They stayed here for months and helped in reconstructing houses, schools and provided other essential services when we needed them most and before leaving they built a phil-kor friendship park and donated some of their equipments to the local government. Until now we are still benefiting from the help of our korean brothers and sisters. Mabuhay!

I agree with u 100 percent firstly. But like I'm not even kidding all the Philippines and Korea videos I see there's always comments about how the ph helped korea they should be grateful blah blah. I feel like one of the steps for the Philippines to succeed is to be less proud. It's good to be proud but sometimes u can't see ur flaws like that. America helped a lot of countries. Korea helped a lot of countries in war. A lot of countries helped a lot in war yet no one says "oh my country helped your country" what happens is the countries who got help repay the country. U don't brag about that. Even if you don't brag Korea to this day is thankful and helps the ph out. I don't get why u need to constantly point that out when no other country does. In the end America asked Filipinos to go. And even in covid Korea helped a lot of filipino veterans. U don't need to say your countries accomplishments. Other countries will see it from u anyways. It loses value the more u say it. That's just my opinion no hate❤️

This is honestly great. But there's actually a fun fact about the economy of the Philippines! Philippines used to be the second largest economy in Asia. Second to Japan. Although the gap is very very large, Philippines used to be a very strong country. This explains why Philippines helped so much on the korean war. Because historically, Philippines was a pretty reliable country. So wtf happened? There's alot of factors why Philippines now became one of the poorest countries. But the biggest factors are geography, geopolitics, bad presidents and of course the biggest of them all, corruption.

True?

For Southeast Asian countries to develop further, corruption must be eliminated. The problem is that corrupt governments, business practices that demand bribes, and inconsistent policies delay business investment. Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, etc. dream of becoming developed countries, but they are not realistically hopeful. An economy that relies on FDI investment and OFW, a meager R&D budget, the level of public awareness and the unimproved passport power ranking etc. . In 2030, per capita GDP of more than $30,000 will be the minimum requirement for developed countries. The gap between the rich and the poor is so large that the growth rate is almost impossible. Business investment is determined after thorough research. Conversely, if the income level of developing countries rises, the doors of developed countries will be narrowed. Only countries that create and invest in companies that can compete in the world and do not rely on resources can achieve this goal.

I am an American living in the Philippines and I have several Korean friends living in the Philippines also. These Koreans often tell me why they like Philippines. Some of those reasons are... - They remember how the Philippines sent soldiers to their country to help fight against the communists in North Korea and China who were trying to take control of South Korea. - The Filipinos are so warm and friendly to them. - They can speak English to the Filipinos. - Their country is too busy and stressful but they enjoy the more relaxed and slow pace of life in the Philippines. - Many want to leave their country because they are worried about another war with North Korea. - They want to get away from the extreme cold weather of South Korea.

Uhmm no, there’s a reason why Koreans are leaving Korea for PH. Do your research haha. I will never live or work there because of the toxic beauty standards alone or being judged because of your color. I’m from PH and I don’t even join the glutathione and whitening bandwagon here and I don’t care haha.

Philippines, alongside Indonesia, is a hotbed for foreign investments due to its very high English proficiency. By 2030, I guess Philippines and Indonesia will enter into top 10 economies in the world. While Vietnam and Thailand can make up the rest of G20.

Better to partner and grow together than trying to trap your "friends" with debt diplomacy. Us Koreans owe a debt of gratitude to them, 1000 Philippine soldiers held off 40000 north koreans and Chinese in the battle of yuldong during the korean war. They were there for us during our darkest time.

Crazy how the country that was struggling and being helped around like in 1956 is doing better than the current country that was helping them in that time period just how far has this country stagnated.

The Philippines is set to surpass South Korea economically after 2050. South Korea's story is one of quick development but also one of quick downfall. Their aging population and diminishing birthrate has doomed their economy.

@@alroberts193 Of course we need to get rid of corruption and cronyism in the system, but our major economic plans will unshakably grow: Duterte's Build, Build, Build plan has been set as law. Regardless of whichever political leader takes over, they are legally obligated to finish the current and planned infrastructure projects. The Philippines also has the perfect "young" demographic for work: The average age of a Filipino as of this comment is 25 years old. Filipino workers are internationally marketable since we're multilingual in English and other Filipino/world languages. The government has removed protectionist policies which now attracts foreign investors into our economy---a huge boon. Working in collaboration with other developed economies like Japan, SK, and the US will allow the Philippine economy to become the second-largest Asian economy after Indonesia by 2100.

The next Philippine presidential elections is indeed a very crucial event to value. The result of this elections might break or make the country's unprecedented development. Polarization due to politics is also a huge factor that is beginning and will continue to affect the country.

@@jangghitomi9699 Yes, I'm beginning to dislike Leni Robredo. I could possibly support Ping. Reason why I don't support BBM is due to the fact that he is always absent in multiple forums, debates, and the like, he somewhat idolizes his father so much, that it seems like he is denying the horrendous events that happened in the past, and I don't like how he continues to conceal things that does not conform to the public's ideals. But if he tries to acknowledge his (and his family's) mistakes and make reparations for them, then I'd immediately veer off to the person that I'm supporting now, to instead support him, like hardcore support him.
