I definitely agree with your take. When first booting up SZ, I was prepared for the learning curve to be vast but once you got a good handle on the fundamentals, it was a cake walk to stomp out the CPU in any mode. I honestly wish that the CPU was harder similar to the red potaras from BT3 so for people who don't want to go online for a challenge can push their skills offline.

Sparking Zero hits different because the average age of a gamer is 35. Most don’t have the option to play with their friends. The gameplay isn’t deep enough to warrant people playing alone offline against the AI. And people tolerate broken mechanics and cheesing less.

It’s like keeping up with joneses but in the gaming sphere. Everyone in the new age has a superiority complex and tries to justify it by their faux win streaks and rank. Which in effect kills the purity of the game 🤷🏽♂️

Tbh your logic seems flawed. 1. I havent played tenkaichi in years but i highly doubt tenkaichi had some amazing AI that made players better. First of all, AI gets better with time. Older games generally have less intelligent AI than newer games, obviously, since every experience offline relies on AI NPCs so its something developers improved since gaming started. On top of that, AI in fighting games is the worst example regardless because most of the time AI difficulty simply comes down to input reading etc. And getting it to actually behave like a real player is nearly impossible in a 1v1 fighting game scenario. Now add in online and one thing about AI and bots is that people always figure out how to cheese a bot just like every single game in existence, so tenkaichi would be no different. Online/internet is the main reason people cheese and exploit video games in general now, its not because games are easier or harder, its because now we have access to literally every information and within 10 minutes of any game dropping people already figure out the most broken things, how to do every technique, make tier lists, find glitches etc etc etc. Its not because tenkaichi had better ai. If the game was online and internet was the way it is now, it would 100% be more cheesier lol.
@KaizenGuides13 күн бұрын
nah, i gotta heavy disagree. tenkaichi had one of the hardest ais out there, and I think ai have only gotten worse, not better over time for these games you could absolutely cheese the ai w solar flare and raw ult until they die but then there's no real learning in those cases. I wasn't really someone to do that consistently myself but that is a valid argument for those who might have done so in the past to bring that play online if it existed back on ps2
@Eacles13 күн бұрын
@@KaizenGuides No, you're wrong. BT3 NEVER had any sort of advanced or difficult AI. Paige, a competitive BT3 player has a video on his channel where he beats the AI on the hardest difficulty by spamming Dragon Thunder (Omega Shenron's rush attack). The CPU in BT3 was way more easy than in SZ. I played a lot of tournaments of BT3 back in the day, and i can say that if BT3 would had online the experience would be similar to SZ. I can agree that BT3 requires a little more skill to be good at it, but still, people back in the day used the most broken characters to have an advantage. If you went to tournaments you always would see the same characters, like Trunks, Burter or Android 17 with his super -1 and his automatic ki charge and barrier
@God_Momentum13 күн бұрын
Sparking zero is no different why because you if you fight 10 people in ranked you’re going to see the same characters gogeta 4, gogeta blue, vegito super/blue, any character with after image strike, healing moves or instant spark
@TheBlessingSky13 күн бұрын
Agree. The internet is the main difference here, there's no way bt3 had some advanced AI when it's an older game, and a fighting game at that. Fighting game AI difficulty is basically just a scale of how much input reading do you want.
@kkd397313 күн бұрын
@@ernestobarragan3210 I wonder if the CPU difficulty in SZ hides mainly behind the new defensive features. I found a lot of my battles it feels like the CPU is waiting for you to make an input vs in BT3 where I felt it was more aggressive. The defensive mechanics are SUPER strong in SZ (especially with how fast blast stocks build) and there are very limited responses with how to deal with them. I hope that in future updates they could nerf things like perception and the vanishing timings

Haven’t watched the full vid, but a lot people don’t understand the game would’ve been far off worse if had the complete mechanics as bt3 Flanking is completely invalid, vortex rushing is scrapped, the combo system is actually do-able without spacing everything out if you use your rush-chains and ultimates don’t have resets Bt3 has way too much mechanic work you’d feel like a little bit of an engineer playing the game. Anyone that plays bt3 competitively would agree that most of the tech you learn wouldn’t be used constantly versus BT4. In many aspect Sparking zero is lackluster in terms of cosmetics, and more but the online system and experience is much more simplified and so much better. Ontop they’re actually reworking characters and putting in effort which given that BT3 came out in 2007 you either played the best or you lost. You have a bit more variety in sparking zero

Nothing is subjective. Reality doesn't change "based on opinion." Perspective changes based on information, and reality changes based on action. Dump the post modernism (subjective woo-woo) if you're going to make critical analysis videos, and stick to facts and logic. Also, that means _all_ of the facts, not just the ones you like. Something is either correct, or it's wrong, reality is not a matter of personal preference or group consensus. The idea that reality is a matter of opinion or willpower is what prosperity gospel and voodoo is based on. That is not the path to accurate information, and practical problem solving. That is the path to religion and ignorance.

As a competitive fighting gamer (but sucks at it), I'm not interested at all to learn this game deeply to play the online. I'm not even interested to play the online lol. I bought this game just to play with my brother. Tbh, I have BLAST experience playing it with my brother. It is really shame they don't take the split screen seriously. So, if I want to rate the game, I probably will give it negative review just because they don't take split screen seriously. (The story mode is okay. But nothing special especially if you are DB fans. It just repeated the story you already know. 'What If' mode is interesting concept but IMO it is 'too shallow').

Ngl man, while I can understand where your take was going, I really think the games being made easier to beat before was a solid statement, but everything else has tad weak foundations if im being honest, i appreciate you pointing out saying this is all from your point of view and all, but you still did base basically half your take on "your" fundamentals and the ones you surrounded yourself and then say "Your" generation, and others with similar mindsets to "you", I can agree that on a game we can share both mindset if wed like to play loke that and fundamentals since we learn that from how we complete the game, but do you really think that actually stops someone from being toxic, like even during the ps2 era, you think there wasnt toxic playing amongst brothers, or damn me agaisnt my father or cousins. A player couldve worked hard to learn the game, but that doesnt guarantee that they want to keep doing that, they can choose to exploite or to just seriously be competitive. And ill clear this up, I dont think youre wrong in having that take, you had your experience which is perfectly fine. Just that the title and video is "why sparking zero feels different" rather then how it generally feels that its "why sparking zero feels different for me". Because I think we can agree that no matter your stance on online or offline, Online is literally the only reason the word toxic got more awareness since it was always been there, the games never been balanced, not then, everyone knows that, but the knowlege of toxic players was less because of the lack of us being able to fight people with different experiences back then and the smaller scope of the internet. And ngl, this doesnt go for you but for others. just dont play online like that then because what? make the game harder to beat, okay so what? There will still be unbalanced characters in the roster, the mode wasnt made for you then, just play the whole game and only play matches with the people you surround yourself or others with similar mindsets and boom, youll have a closer experience to the older tenkaichi, and just like before you and they can cheese or play with fundamentals.
@GamingNine1Kid12 күн бұрын
this game is over 9000 times better than Tenkaichi 3....the problem is these days people are obsessed with PVP and this game was never meant to be a competitive online fighting game, it's meant to be a love letter to DBZ fans and be enjoyed casually, it's not meant to scratch the itch of PVP additcts and be super balanced towards online play....people are complaining about stuff like character balance because they want this to be a competitive PVP game and that's all they want out of this game, but this anime is not about having balanced characters, it's freaking DBZ!..in the anime there's never balance between the characters there's always an overpowered character one after another, it's a freaking anime game .... if u want a DBZ PVP fighting game experience game go play Fighterz that's what that game is for.

I feel like Sparking Zero is more like Xenoverse 3 than BT3. Combat in Sparking Zero just feels like a spamfest, what with there being no Ki sickness and the inclusion of things like unblockable ultimates, as well as the exclusion of vertical Ki bars that change depending on the current transformation and character. Every character in Sparking Zero has the same amount of Ki and it charges at the exact same rate whether it's Krillin or Vegito Blue.
