If you have doubts concerning this spirit breathed teaching, you should just speak to the Holy Spirit to reveal the truth to you as you read your Bible to understand more on speaking in tongues. If you want to know something after twenty years in the faith I come to realization that there's someone up there that God gave a little more denarius than the other being very young in the faith without wanting not to be taught by no one we still learning and receiving conformation from someone with higher level and to be sure of what 2 Timothy 3:16-17 tells us during the period of forty three years I came to learn five different language then I want more I learned to communicated in nine language so when I read of Jesus and Apostol Paul taught about speaking in tongues I look at this in many ways one the pride in churches, second that this gift of the spirit it doesn't hinder God for us to learn if we are hungry enough so I ran to; to may places seeking the baptism of the holy spirit so I could speak in tongues so I thought if I put a word from the many language I knew I said I can do it but in the other hand I knew also that by pretending was an abomination to God in the other hand our Jesus roll muddle we speak a tongue to unbelievers without using our lips but many times when in my intimacy with father God I sang and talk in tongues but I dear myself to talk in front of others I remember in Pentecost churches after the service I used to call the pastor aside and explain and compare what the Holy Scripture said about it. Many places I got kicked out because I always pound in what Apostol Paul said in the Corinthians not having an interpreter they didn't like that but according to this message It brought me a great conformation

The only way a believer can perform the miraculous sign and wonder of speaking in tongues is by an Apostle (Acts 1:15-26) placing hands on you (Acts 19:6 & Acts 8:17) or by an Apostle speaking to you. All the Apostles are dead (Acts 1:15-26) so the miraculous sign and wonder of speaking in tongues is also non-existing and we must follow the bible example. Philippians 3:17 Join one another in following my example, brothers, and carefully observe those who walk according to the pattern we set for you. 1 Corinthians 11:1 Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.

@@maryjacob-israel1341 speaking in tongues is a learnt behaviour. You will be shocked how other denominations speak in tongues. Everyone there speak the same way too. It’s a learnt behaviour. Some Pastors know and they use it to prey on vulnerable Christians so as to make them believe they are growing spiritually. It’s all false doctrine. Why don’t they go out and lay hands on people on the street who accept Christ for the first time and get those people speak in tongues? Why is after they’ve been to church and they hear people uttering all these syllables before they also start imitating it?

It’s a spiritual gift given to certain people, not everyone will be able to. We all have different spiritual gifts. You still have the Holy Spirit in you and are still born again even if you don’t speak in tongues. You can pray for it for sure tho.

Or you are a believer and you can speak in tongues but you just don't do it! Mostly cause you are taught against it. You can speak in tongues right now, just speak it! That's how I did it. I believed I had the holy ghost so I just opened my mouth and started to speak, and in a few seconds my lips started to form words and sentences which sounded like a perfect language.

Jesus Christ himself said "those who believe in him, shall speak in new tongues." Jesus Christ did NOT and does NOT say things for justing "saying sake." When he said those who believe he means just that. Therefore, all of those who believe and NOT some of those who believe. If after reading the word of Jesus Christ himself and you still believe that only certain people can speak in tongues...it means that you choose to NOT believe what Jesus Christ said or you choose to perhaps believe what you have been taught by man more than what Christ himself said. I have yet to hear a reason to speak in tongues. God doesn't answer based on how we format out prayer. Can anyone tell me what tongues has done that regular prayer cant? Can you change Gods mind because you spoke in tongues? I feel like I Jesus didnt teach it its probably not that important. I feel if we removed tongues we wouldnt lose anything except less ppl being turned away. Id love to hear one case where its more than a religious experience.

The truth is, that whenever a person truly become convicted of their sins and accepts Jesus Christ as their Lord and saviour they also receive the Holy Spirit. Speaking in tongues is the first discernible sign that a person receive the Holy Spirit. In this passage of Scripture, Jesus speak of the Holy Spirit as being synonymous with himself, so accepting Jesus is also accepting the Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues is the evidence that he reside in you. That was excellent and he really clarifies speaking in tongues biblically which there's so many scriptures to back it up. The devil is the one that prevents believers from the gift so that we separate from the Holy Spirit and relationship with God the Father, because he is a liar don't be deceived he's on this earth to cause destruction in our lives. "Be on alert the devil prowls about like a roaring lion,, seeking someone to devour." 1st Peter 5:8 and The thief came to steal, kill and finally destroy in John 10:10 and we can't let him win. Remember he hates God that's why he wants us to burn in hell not home in paradise in heaven with our heavenly Father. We need to be personally edified in the presence of the Holy Spirit so speak in your prayer language tongues. I personally know when I do there is no distraction versus speaking English which everything comes into my mind to cause distractions & my mind wanders which the enemy wants remember it's a battlefield of the mind, but when I speak or sing in tongues it's just me and him the Holy Spirit it's beautiful just communication with God only and he understands, because he gave me that gift and his presence is unbelievable & powerful.

Amen, I didn't use to speak in tongues and never thought I would but God, through His divine Holy Spirit had different plan for me. Now I do speak in tongue effortlessly, not forcing it and oh my! How wonderful it is to be genuinely able. However, I'd admonish that you seek that which is most important, the Kingdom of God and all other things will be added as it so pleaseth God and do keep on praying, you'll surely have a testimony. And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. [3] And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism. [4] Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. [5] When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. [6] And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied. [7] And all the men were about twelve. To conclude the chapter (Mark 16) it is clear that after Jesus commissed them they obeyed him (Mark 16:15) with signs that confirmed them as believers. ‭‭Mark‬16:20‬ ‭KJV‬‬ [20] And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. God himself confirms us (the true believer who hear God's calling) with signs but we often look for a persons confession to confirm them. Remember ‭‭James‬ ‭2:19‭-‬20‬ ‭KJV‬‬ [19] Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. [20] But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? It takes faith to accept speaking in tongues whether it be for confirmation, self edification, praying the perfect will of God or as a gift to edify others through interpretation (all reasons are vital). We should ask ourselves do we want God's confirmation or man's confirmation. In Acts 2 there were 120 believers who spoke in tongues and many of devout nations wanted interpretation after receiving only translation of the message they miraculously heard through the unlearned so to make sure they understood/ doubters would not say they were mad (1 Corthinitians14:23) Peter said 'these are not drunken as the suppose (verse 15) but THIS IS THAT which spoken by the prophet Joel (verse 16) that in the last days I shall pour my Spirit out on all flesh.....(verse 17)." Speaking in new tongues can be taught in many ways but remember that it was a fulfilment of prophesy; what God said he would do referring to the true believers. I wouldn't leave here until I am confirmed to be the believer that God wants me to be. Make you calling and election sure. Every true believer is a receiver.

You seek for the gift of tongues with your own will, but the Holy ghost gives you the gift. When you speak, you won't understand what you're saying unless there's an interpreter. The fact that you don't know what you're saying, indicated that the Holy ghost speaks through you, and not you yourself

As far as I can see there's 2 times in scripture that the believer speaks in tongues... 1) when you are baptized in the Holy Spirit you will speak in an unknown tongue ... and it may very well happen to you when you are at home. The scripture explains that this baptism of the Holy Spirit is done by Jesus (and to my understanding is an unknown heavenly language, but you will hear the meaning in your mind simultaneously). And you will be praising God. 2) the other time is the gift of the Holy Spirit. The gift of tongues is like any of the other gifts of the Spirit. These are given by the Holy Spirit ... the scripture says "as the Spirit gives utterance". Personally, it has not been my experience that these happen at your personal control. I may learn differently as I mature and seek God more and more. But so far as I know, you cant force it to happen. According to scripture, these can be tongues (languages) of men or of Angels. If tongues of men, it is either your own language (like English from an English speaker) or another human language (like Spanish, Hebrew, or Swahili , etc. ) and presumably someone present will know that language and understand what was said. In the first case no interpretation is necessary if it's the native language of everyone. In the second case an interpretation may be needed for non-native speakers although in this case you may not get one. But it will witness to it's intended hearer. Or it can be the tongues of Angels and this is an unknown tongue to people and unless there's a translation, which there should be. To my knowledge all forms are aa the Spirit gives utterance. This means it will happen when it's appropriate. I have heard people say they can control it (start or stop). That hasn't been my experience. For me the Holy Spirit controls it. And like Paul says, your mind is not fruitful, which means the words don't come from your thoughts or your brain. It comes forth from your innermost being (belly/spirit) inside you. It will well up quickly and flow out of your mouth, totally bypassing your brain. You brain may be independently thinking about what you hear the Holy Spirit using your voice to proclaim.

Read Mark 16: 16-20. Every believer has the potential to speak in tongues. They only need to have the same faith to be saved as to receive tongues. You receive tongues when you receive Christ. Tongues are a sign to the unbeliever so if you don't believe in tongues it is a sign to you, then the Bible says you are an unbeliever. Tongues brings revelation, understanding and clarity because as you speak to God in tongues, He speaks back to you! I am convinced that if Paul was the greatest example of power with greater works and the reason is because of 1 Corinthians 14:18 I speak in tongues more than ye all! Holy Spirit is God's spirit and tongue is the evidence of the endowment power which drives the new creation! Read Acts 2:1-8. Being baptized with the Holy Spirit is what took place and changed the lives of the disciples and every one after. Read the Acts if the Apostles.

But the gift is always accompanied by a believer with the gift of interpretation of tongues in order to edify a church gathering. But there is another operation of speaking in tongues that is the first evidence that a believer has recieved the Holy Spirit and their private prayer language that only edifies the individual.
