Most of time when you prayer in your understanding you are selfish, but when you prayer in tongues you might prayer in someone who is in danger or sick in your family, at work without you knowing. SO POWERFUL. UNFORTUNATELY SOME CHRISTIAN DO NOT BELIEVE IN TONGUES.

The exact thing he said about how he and his wife would pray in n bed together in english and tongues every day.... is literally, exactly the deepest prayer of my heart for my marriage. We did this (not in bed) when dating and my soul cries out for restoration of that broken dream. Next he just said my other deep dream, to have children. I have endometriosis and my marriage is not in a healthy place to start trying to have kids and yet my biggest dream is to have kids in a healthy happy home. Please pray for me for these dreams of praying together and someday parenting godly offspring to be restored and for my husbands repentance

You can always have your desires in mind but pray intimately. In tongues from your heart as your main focus. You will build yourself up perfectly and personally. God’s will as your focus will bring your petition into focus where you will begin seeing that you are close to your break through. Thank you very much to Rev. Pastor Richard Roberts. I had been sick and prayed in tongue and then in English. I asked God what the cause of the heat in every part of my body was from. I heard he said later through my spirit that He was healing me. And when I came home from hospital, the Lord also prompted me to take another prescription of medicine which I have stopped taking for a very long while . And this evening I was healed since then. Awesome teaching. While it's beneficial to pray in tongues and then pray in English, that is not the ONLY way to benefit from tongues. I have received numerous benefits and breakthroughs from praying in tongues even when I didn't pray in English.

The way I understand praying in the spirit is that it comes from your connection with the holy spirit who uses you to pray for both yourself and others. You can be praying for yourself one second and someone accross town the next ( if thats needed). So praying for yourself in English makes sense because you are able to focus on a direct prayer. I honestly am not sure how it all works but aomeone of great faith taught that to me. When I pray in tongues, I can feel where the direction of my prayers are going sometimes, sometimes I have no idea...

You are articulating what I know to be true. I pray in tongues , but I can only speak in tongues when Holy Spirit speaks through me. Holy Spirit sometimes interprets what I said but not always. Sometimes Holy Spirit simply answers my tongues. One morning I woke up singing an entire song in tongues with an unknown melody and a complete cadence at the end. I cherish that song and pray it happens again some day. I am not “Pentecostal” by denomination but the whole bible belongs to all of us. Holy Spirit pours tongues and devotional writings out of me every day.
