I have used premium oil and el-cheapo oil bought by the quart in farm stores. I haven't done it, but I understand even tc-3 outboard engine oil will work fine too. All my small engine machines have run fine for years, even after leaving my mix gas in them for years. I believe the key is using non-ethanol fuel. I also use stabil, although Im not sure its even necessary.

Ethanol free is the best. Wish I could get it easily around here. I hear marinas are a good spot to fill up.

Pro tip: Run a 50:1 ratio of Klotz race oil in any 2-stroke engine. We have raced bike saws with this stuff, hundreds of chainsaws, weedeaters, and dirt bikes. It gives higher performance from the engine, as well as a beautiful smell that can only be mimicked at the racetrack. After 25 years, we have never had a motor sieze up, and have made more power than with any other fuel.

It’s crazy expensive here in the US. I don’t think it’s worth it. I think the major selling point is that the fuel is ethanol free.

true fule does not have ethanol in it .when storing two stroke engines it's the best way to run it out of gas for storage. THATS MY OPINION. I do use high test and ams oil during the summer season.

I only buy ethanol-free fuel and I have never had a problem with gummed up carburetors fuel that has ethanol in it is the problem it's hard on rubber parts makes them brittle people if you can try and find ethanol-free fuel you'll be happy in the long run also in my opinion trufuel is too expensive and not worth it a lot of people like the convenience I can see that but if you have to use that stuff all the time say you have a landscaping business you'll go broke
@DarkAttack147 ай бұрын
You can also just buy a purpose made fogger that you run through the intake with no fuel in the tank, just crank it a few times to let it coat the interals and you're golden
@fredbrow28536 ай бұрын
The only drawback to running out of fuel is that if you have a prime bulb it will dry out and crack and if you don’t put fuel stabilizer in the tank the fuel won’t be any good for use.
@tellfile2 ай бұрын
I feel a little better by using Tru Fuel in my two strokes because I read that Ethanol contained in pump fuel often degrades rubber fuel lines and plastic components. I wondered why all my fuel lines was hardening and leaking from cracks periodically. Seems like my weed eater starts up faster with Tru Fuel in it.

Does it really matter whether you use 87 or 89 octane gas? I know the bottles say 89 but I’ve always used 87 at all the lawn care jobs I worked and never had a problem
@TheLawngineer8 ай бұрын
Shouldn’t matter too much. But there are some engines out there that are very finely tuned and will run better on higher octane. But lower octane won’t harm it.

This is mixed with gasoline and put into the fuel tank of the unit. Mix ratio is typically 50:1… that’s 50 parts of gasoline to one part oil. It’s a 2-stroke engine, so the lubricant is provided in the fuel mixture.

So the gas can gets filled with 1-gallon of gas. Then you add the oil. This bottle of oil has a nice feature where you can squeeze the bottle and measure out what ratio you want. There are two line on the dispenser part of the bottle. One for a 40:1 mix and another for a 50:1 mix. Fill up to the line you want and dump that into the 1-gallon of gas.
