Totally agree with you when it comes to bartering or selling gold. It’s harder to find someone who can afford a full ounce over a fractional gold piece. I love all the different designs/and denominations that you have here! I think a lot of people want to buy everything at once, and that lack of patience by buying a huge chunk at once will come to bite them if they don’t have fractional and the patience to buy little by little. Very wise and thoughtful process explained. 🙂. Thank you so much for sharing my friend! Keep stacking the great stuff! -PiFS

Thanks PiFS, I just think there are purposes for both and wanted to speak on a fractional perspective as to why. I have had a purchase of up to a half oz in fractional gold I could of bought a half oz whole coin but I chose to stack this way because I have a plan and my own purpose. Some that stack 1 oz gold coins only I mean that is wonderful and I am sure I will one day as well pick up a few after I have stacked enough fractional but I will always have way more fractional then 1 oz coins it just makes more sense to me. Enjoy your weekend my friend!

I totally agree with you. Another good reason to stack fractional gold is the ability to DOWN COST AVERAGE!!!! LOVE YOU GOLD BUGS! I started stacking silver 2 years ago and exited this bull run. I am now doing the same with gold. I just started. I have less than an oz but working on it. STACK AND STAY SAFE!!!

Thanks for your comment and positive feedback. Down cost average huh, well that's a good one as well. I am fairly new at stacking as well. I don't have too long either. At least you started, I am sure you will have gold added up in no time, it does take time too though and patience I learned but it's a good way to learn how to manage and invest money. Anyhow have a good rest of your week, keep stacking and stay safe as well.

Let me first say that I started out stacking fractional gold also. I have 1/10oz gold eagles - I actually have one tube of them, which is 50 coins (5 ounces). I originally started buying them for the same reasons you are listing....However, I can tell you that my local coin shop sells them (secondary BU coins) at a $30 premium. This is $300 per ounce.... They sell 1 ounce gold eagles (again, secondary BU coins) at a $60 premium. So, those 50 coins I have, has cost me about $1200 in premiums over what I could have bought 5 single ounce coins for. - That $1200 could have been an extra 45 ounces of silver to my stack. As stated, I started buying them for the same reasons you mentioned, and then chose to keep buying until I completed 1 tube.... Now, if I could get in the way-back-machine, there is no way I would do that again. (Nor would I advise anyone to do it) First off, we should have an emergency cash fund before ever buying any metals. If we can not afford a $1000 unforeseen emergency, then in reality, we can not really afford to be buying metals at all.... (I get it if a person has 2 or 3 unforeseen items crop up in a row, they may need to sell their metals, but for the most part, everyone should have at least 90 days of cash on hand before investing in anything (excluding protection methods, food and a couple ways to purify water - these three things should be first on everyone's list). Secondly, the only way fractional gold would really be handy, is in a complete cash-down environment. (in which case food, water and protection devices will be the currency in demand, at least for the immediate needs. Gold and silver will return once the society as a whole starts to rebound, so that is when it will be nice to have a stack, and either silver or fractional gold will be handy.) I think silver can and should be used for that notion of bartering or trading during bad times, and gold reserved for larger transactions. The main reason for gold is portability of wealth. You can put $50k (or even $100k) of gold in your pocket and walk all day. Just 500oz of silver is going to put 35 pounds on your back if you have to leave your home and can not drive. (I am a fat old man and would not make it much past my driveway! - haha) Silver can be used for those rare occasions when you need to raise cash as you mention. A silver eagle can be readily and instantly sold today for $25 with nothing but a phone call. ($30 if you shop it around) - So basically, a tube of eagles will get you $500 (or more) with zero effort to cover those multiple emergencies that may cause the need to raise extra cash. I plan to keep all 50 of the 1/10 ounce coins since I already spent the money, but the strategy I try to encourage to folks just starting out, is to start with the big three items mentioned above, then save 90 days of cash, then stack silver until you hit about 300-500 ounces, then move in to 1 ounce gold coins. (And for the silver, the most economical and liquid is generic rounds. My LCS buys those at spot minus .50 cent, - for eagles, he pays spot plus $1 so there is less need for the price to move to get your money back plus profits with generic) - I did choose to convert all my generic to Eagles recently though when the price went up, so I still got the eagles at a bargain because I only paid $11-$15 per ounce for the generic, so absorbing the hit on the eagles premium was not felt at all. As for amounts to stack - most financial folks suggest 10 percent of your total net worth to be in physical metals. I am a little heavy, with about 26 percent sitting in gold and silver. I plan to grow that to 30 percent total holdings in 2021, and then I will wait and see what happens. - There is a certain amount I would never go below short of chaos, but the rest is just waiting to be profited with. (good lord willing!) Everyone will discover their optimal amount when they get in to stacking....(I know several people that have everything except their house in metals....They leave just enough cash in the bank to cover one month of costs, and all the rest goes in to stacking....(they have VERY impressive stacks, and WAY more than I personally would ever want kept in one location, but to each their own.) I just found your channel, and this is the first video I watched on there, so I will look at your library and sub up after posting this. Again - the above is just my humble opinion, and how I would do things a little differently if I could have a do-over. Everyone will ultimately figure out for themselves what works best for them, so all ideas are worth hearing I think. (I started out before youtube was an abundant outlet of stacking information) Cheers, and thanks for spending your time to post content!

Excellent video, Anna. As usual, you nailed it. You know I love fractional gold pieces as well. I love how you visualized it with the pyramid. You made an excellent case regarding the premiums, and I would add to that a couple of other points in support of your case. First, the premiums on fractional gold are only higher as a percentage, not as a total. For example, right now, spot is at $1,847. A random date 1oz gold eagle on APMEX is going for $1,975. That's $128 or 6.9% over spot. A random year 1/10oz gold eagle is going for $251. A tenth of spot price would be $185 So the 1/10oz coin costs $66 or 36% premium. 6.9% sounds like a lot less than 36%, but in reality, $66 is almost half of the $128 premium for a full ounce. Second, people always argue that it "doesn't make sense" to buy fractional pieces because of the premiums, but the only way it "doesn't make sense" to buy fractional is if you buy a full ounce in fractionals all at the same time; but even then, the other arguments you made could justify that purchase. I like the comparisons you made to cars. I think I remember you saying you worked as a loan officer to help people finance auto purchases. Experiences is showing! Great stuff, Anna!

Thanks Expat! I really just spoke what was on my mind and kinda ranted somewhat for the first time on my videos but whatever.. don't think I did it enough to go viral! 😂 yea I was just trying to show with the pyramid a visual I guess of what my plan was. Building it wider and higher as time goes on. Thanks for your support, it means a lot. You have excellent points of percentages and your right, its kinda not much of a difference, you know in 2020 though at a certain point I seen so many stacking videos that 1/10 gold was wiped out clean in LCS and in high demand. If you sold them to the LCS they paid you more but there were plenty of 1 oz coins around... and I seen on ebay and APMEX when the 1/10 should of been $210 or $215 at that point as well they were going at times for $250 to $290. So there might even be more room for fractional to make profit in desperate times. I think the 1/4 and maybe even the 1/20 or 1/25 could have this potential as well. I am gonna start on 1/4 soon and then go on to some 1 full oz coins eventually, I just wanted to gather a good amount of fractional to reserve some security especially after what circumstances we seen in 2020, the world going crazy. Still it hasn't healed itself, so we keep stacking! 😁😊

Hey Anna great video, awesome collection I agree with what you're saying, also I feel like your comparison selling 1 x 1 oz of gold is not the equivalent of selling 1x tenth oz, the equivalent would be selling 10 x tenth oz. Sure selling 1 x tenth would be easy but if I need more money quickly selling 1 x 1oz is going to be easier than selling 10 smaller coins I think. It certainly could be a benefit being able to sell in tenths if the price were to become much higher, for eg in the future if an oz is 5k or 10k then 1 oz might not be much use for every day purchasing unless you buy a years worth of groceries at once for eg haha I enjoy collecting the fractional gold also can't wait to see your next pick ups.

I am a fan of the British Gold Sovereign. It is .2354 Troy Ounces of Gold, but has premiums that are about the same that you would pay for a full Ounce Eagle or Maple. And unlike the half, quarter and tenth Ounce Gold Eagles and Maples, the British Sovereign isn't a fraction of anything...because it is a freakin Sovereign

@@AlohaStacker well guess I didn't rant enough for it to go viral..hehe You know like those people who fight in best buy on black Fridays for Playstations, they go viral because they really go on rants, guess I didn't go hard enough..🤣 I always have troublemakers on my channel, I am a female who reads the Bible and stacks..😭🤣😂

@@AlohaStacker yes I know that. I just get people who don't believe woman should teach the Bible or people who think I don't know anything about stacking. Many more womanizers then you think.

I have the same philosophy when it comes to fractional gold. Also why i stack junk silver.

Fantastic! Glad we share similar philosophy on fractional. You know your absolutely right on the junk silver too, I been realizing that and that's why I want to focus more on junk silver in 2021, after I complete a few goals here I have a plan to work junk silver into my budget. That is a great idea! Thanks for your comment! Appreciate it.

So, it’s easier to sell 1 oz. gold bars than 10 oz. gold bars? Got it. Thanks. It’s just a matter of finding the right buyers for the appropriate amount of gold? Got it. Thanks.
