This "expert" is living in the cretaceous. The problem is not of jurisdiction. The problem is of privacy laws and KYC laws and enforcement. For instance, if an aadhar that is linked to a confirmed spam complaint is blacklisted, the problem can be minimized. Secondly, AI is being used by many operators to warn users about spam calls and this is working well not sure why this man is saying this is confusing users no one is confused the spam call identificationworks nearly 100 pc of the time. VoIP calls are only a small part of the issue..most spam calls are emerging from India itself. Lastly, institutions whose products are sold by spammers and/or robocalls should be penalized heavily and not allowed network access for a period of time. PS: Uncle has not heard of VPN in case of internet.

There's also another problem with what he says - it's not like the location of the caller can't be seen. In many cases they brazenly make calls from abroad which can be, with the help of apps like Truecaller, also be detected. 1 thing can be done though: such apps can come in built with new phones instead of useless apps like games
@berzerius17 күн бұрын
You are talking a lot with surface level understanding and assuming that he doesn't know about anything. 1, He's literally talking about blacklisting as you suggest. 2. AI tools and carrier level or software level filtering isn't the domain of the government. This doesn't work for feature phones. Government looks at it at infrastructure level on how to protect everyone. 3. How do YOU know that the calls are not routed internationally? He literally explained how the calls that appear to be domestic are actually routed out and back in with spoofed origins. 4. If you punish the products, it becomes an easy way to abuse the system. Just tell marketers to promote the competiors. 5. WTF is the relevance of VPN? The services in the internet always assume that you're a possible hacker, unlike the telephone network, which will trust whatever users tell it. That was his point.

Sometimes a personal loan call is not actually for the personal loan. The caller will identify him/her as a bank representative and promise you to give the loan even if your cibil score is lower and even if you don't have enough income to get such amount of loan. Infact the caller is merely an insurance agent. he/she will get your details and promise that they can give the loan against the insurance bond. So first you have to buy the insurance by paying the first year's due( even the agent will ask you to not disclose to the insurance company that this insurance is for loan purposes). Once you take the insurance policy, they will never contact you again.
