Good luck! It’s a beast… played the first two movements for my jury the other day and am working the third up for a recital in March. The third movement will drive you crazy man, watch out!

Man Sokolov is one my favorites. An unrelenting ocean of sound but not in a tasteless way

this peice is such a bop but it lowkey scares me

Learning it right now, made the mistake of performing it whilst not ready for performance yet. On lighter pianos it becomes much more doable, since the keys can be depressed much easier. The piano I performed on was very heavy - like playing a tank. Luckily the audience was one that didn’t know much about classical music, certainly not this, so when I intentionally left notes out and cheated to keep the musical integrity, nobody noticed. But yeah, it’s a scary piece for sure!

Could you please do an analysis of Zarębski "Berceuse" or his other works? His an outstanding polish composer but he's often forgotten due to his early death. He was also among the best pupils of Franz Liszt.

Hard to believe this is one pianist, although there it is, on two or three staves, and we're hearing him play it! Hard to believe someone can move from region to region on the keyboard at that tempo!

Not sure if it’s been covered before, but you should cover the waltzes from Prokofiev’s Cinderella. There’s one with a melody built off of major 7ths, I may be mistaken. But it’s very twisted sounding. I’m curious to see a Roman numeral analysis on something like that. Great videos!

Oh yes, I've played that one before even! That's a great suggestion thanks

Does anyone have tips for the 3rd movement or for the piece overall? I’ve somewhat learned the 1st and 2/3s of the 2nd movements. Any tips from anyone?

It's so similar to "Impromtu Op. 32 No. 1 No. 3 in G Major, "Fantasietta alla Moresca" by Ch. V. Alkan", maybe Stravinsky was inspires by him, anyways, Petrushka is one of the best ballets written

what is an acoustic scale
@btat1629 күн бұрын
In the harmonic series, the ratios closely approximating to a flat 7th and a sharp 4 show up before their natural counterparts. The acoustic scale is inspired by that: 1 2 3 #4 5 6 b7

remember it as of mix of lydian and mixolydian scales. This is why this one is the cooles scale
