The boxers back then laid the foundation but the boxers of today are just better and that's just something that applies to any discipline.

Heck his opponents Literally will punch and keep their heads in the same position/location which gave him a easy target. What makes Matias dangerous is his jab, his ability to cut off the ring and his infighting/being dangerous in the clinch. Matias knows how to reach his opponents because he knows how to cut off the ring and Matias is 5"10 with a 72 inch reach. He has a very good ability to shorten his punches which increases his accuracy. Matias knows how to slip his shots in between his opponents loops. Check the Ponce fight to see Matias utilize this. If you hold Matias you're getting beat up. Matias throws 100 punches a round and he only throws more when the rounds get deeper.

I first noticed Matias because of his beautiful left hook when he was fighting orthodox, possibly the best in boxing. With his punishing power, head and body attack, relentless pressure, stamina, underrated stance switching, fight IQ, and willingness and ability to take hard punches to initiate 50/50 exchanges, he is a problem that no one wants.
