@@itachitoyou'd be surprised. It depends on who will also be his next trainer as he is without one now. His fights show, he has great skill, power, speed, and like he has said he knows when not to use it. He's pretty much our modern day Emmanuel Augustus. A interesting boxer, who got screwed a lot sadly.

@APAMVs I have alot to say when it comes to Augustus, most haters are casuals so they compare Whitaker to the late prince naseem(I also did so as well at first) who lost in his last fight with just simple basic Mexican boxing. Augustus will be remeberd for his tekken like style and his short noticed fights that still went the distance,Whitaker might be Augustus if Augustus had a proper coach, promoter, judges.

It's crazy how much people hate Whittaker for showboating when that's what makes him entertaining to watch. People say he can't maintain this style as he keeps going against tougher opponents, but I think if he masters this style it can prove to be an asset. I'm not saying it won't be difficult, I can see this style of boxing confuse many boxers.

The level of hate directed towards Whittaker is bewildering. He’s at the start of his career, brilliant skill set, still a few areas to iron out, beating everyone so far with ease, including Willings here, who to be fair, is a very promising fighter in his own right. Ben is only in the second year of his pro career, give the kid time, he’s an exciting fighter.

Willings massive props to that lad he's actually a real decent fighter and with the right backing could actually make a go at bigger things man. Considering he was supposed to be another knock over fighter he was making Whittaker look daft at times you can see he's got some real slick skills and can take a shot. Maybe his punch power is a little suspect but lot's of fighters make careers at British level without massive power.

Well that’s just silly but the point is that Willings took the fight on 9 days notice against a fighter who is said to be set for super stardom who has fought at decent venues all over the world in Commonwealth - world and Olympic finals . Whittaker at 26 has a heck of a lot more experience than the 23 year old Willings and has already experienced some big nights , Willings on the other hand has never been on a stage anywhere like the 02 and for him to put up a performance like that was a great achievement. I say onwards and upwards now for the lad and with the steady improvement likely I think he has a bright future .

That wasn’t much of a performance mate what you talking about he was a literal punching bag that shoulder rolled a few times 😂😂 forget the context look at things objectively, Ben absolutely smoked him technically and yet still people are putting him down and that’s the point - most of it isn’t even rational it’s just purely from the fact he’s a confident dude who likes to entertain and the British have never liked that (since Naseem Ofcourse but he just shoved it down your throats and made you like it) 😂

His block parry roll left him open to punches he couldn't see coming..2 the weakness of the Philly shell is against good striker puncher and counter punchers. So now everyone's writing Whittaker off! But Willings is a winning fighter with a good knockout record - give the guy some credit. And Whittaker beat him handily. He needs to focus more on defence, but that will come with experience - it's not as though he lacks talent. When he showboats people say get down to business. When he gets down to business people say he should showboat more. British fans sure do like to cut down their young talent...

Although it has to be classed as a knockdown it was more because Leon over committed with the slip and lost balance. Good level up for Ben here, very good defence from Leon who has shown that he's at British level at least. Ben has a lot to go back and look at to unpack and learn from but this was good to see that he's had to be more cautious and picky with his boxing rather than being handed guys no where near his level. I think we'll see big improvements from both men after this

I don’t think Leon exposed anything. He landed some big shots but he landed few. Leon was winning…maybe 30 seconds of each round on average. But winning 30 seconds doesn’t mean he exposed anything. Shakur dominated Valdez. But Shakur admitted afterward that Valdez hurt him bad to the point where he considered going down to a knee. Did Valdez hurting Shakur expose Shakur? No. He still got whooped. Leon is the same. He didn’t expose Ben. Leon got his ass whooped. But he was tough. Just as Valdez was.

I’m here laughing at the gate people are having in a boxer who’s had a great amateur career, who’s learning his pro boxing craft. Whittaker is still learning and going through the motions, working on what works and what doesn’t work. When it’s time for him to step up he will adjust accordingly, most of the people haven’t even stepped in the ring lol. People we all have to start somewhere, stop hating and support the guy.
