The only reason why he lost was because of his arrogance and one and only flaw in his mechanism which is that he could not absorb both types of energy at the same time, he can absorb both ki blasts and physical force from blows as we could see when Goku tried to punch him second time, he must focus on absorbing ki blasts OR on absorbing power from blows that he takes, this mechanism would make him literally the strongest being in existance if it really doesn't have any limit besides that flaw, once he started absorbing C18 ki blasts he was open to physical blows, he let his guard completly down and that's why Goku could punch through him with Dragon Fist

Android 17 inside of Super 17 helped them, Super 17 has a barrier to prevent attacks while absorbing. It also saved Super 17 and Goku, when Goku tried to explode in his SSJ4 form. Undestructable, so Android 17 must have lowered the barrier from the inside after Android 18 was talking to him. The story defeated him, that punch from Goku was not so powerful, Super 17 weakspot is; while absorbing his defense is down. Like in an RPG, when your DEF status becomes 0, you are fucked. SO cause of that Super 17 has that barrier in first place. To cover that weakspot, which Android 17 opened for them !!

He can absorb any android with a touch so even if he was not as powerful as them, super 17 is basically gt version of Moro73, but possibly more dangerous since he can just touch a android, and absorb them, and absorb any ki blast. If he absorbed angel Moro73 (either Moro73 accepts it, so he will not die or super 17 waits until he mutates), he could be unstoppable, all he needs to do is grab Buu’s neck, than absorb him, and Goku too lose super 17 weakness, and so he can permanently be in mastered ultra instinct without the drawbacks. Than he could absorb the z warriors, and anybody that will be useful like Zuno.

First - Toriyama never said "there's a dimension where all movies happened". All he was trying to say in the original interview is basically "I dunno I just watch them". Thank you for showing the whole context of the translation by the way. Him saying "I TAKE THEM ("for myself" it means!) as if they are happened in the other world" is his way to say "if there's some contradictions then I take it as what-ifs". Japanese people just talks like that. He never tried to make a statement about a separated world specifically for the events of the movies. Second - there's a specific reason why there was Garlic Jr. in Z and Coola in GT. If you watch GT closely - you will not find any other movie character in it ASIDE from Coola. That's because it was factually confirmed that there's only two DB movies that are considered as a part of the whole main story - and it's specifically the "Give back my Gohan!" and "The Incredibly Strongest Against The Strongest". The confirmation goes from the guidebook "Daizenshuu 7". On the "Chronological Table Of The DB World" those movies are the only placed ones. That paragraph shows a canonical chronology for the manga and the anime both (anime is as canon as the manga, they are not apart from each other).

P.s. yes there's Ryuken as a reference to the 16 movie, that is not placed in the Chronological Table - yet we can assume it happened after the Buu arc as is, because the table also ends before GT, because there was no GT to place it (the book was released literaly 18 days after DBGT first episode airing). Also the movie was released just a few months before the book's release too so it can be the reason why it's not placed. This movie fits perfectly in a time just a year or two or less after Buu's defeat.

Super 17, from what i understand, gave a gigantic increase in power to both Android 17, a surprising increase that easily surpasses Rild's by joining forces and fusing with the mechanical components of the Sigma Force (just look at the scaling, Rild going from a level relative to Goku Base to a level developed to Super Saiyan Goku, and Android 17 going from Base Vegeta's level to a level beyond Super Saiyan 2 Vegeta), for a Fusion of Androids, the increase can be dozens of times the power of individuals (up to hundreds).

It is a fusion of two Androids (Android 17) from different worlds, one of which is from Earth and the other from Hell, and one complements the other to perfect the mechanism of two beings into a definitive Android that is actually practically a half-breed mutant, with the Android from hell being superior to Vegeta Base in view of what later became more powerful, surpassing the conventional Super Saiya-jin transformations of Z Warriors. Goku, only in Super Saiya-jin in this Saga, with a little wrath, was able to beat so strong as his Super Saiya-jin 4 in the previous saga and Super 17 showed ease in overcoming that level, just like Paikuhan had done in the past (similar to the Super Kaioken gap, or above like a Legendary Super Saiya-jin that was Broly, since Super 17 resisted a Kamehameha at close range) with its most basic level being the one that surpasses Goku's Conventional Super Saiya-jin forms, it would at least surpass a Restricted Super Saiya-jin 3 on Earth whose power is different from the other world but it is greater than the sum of three Super Saiya-jin's 2 that, for example, form a Majin Buu power. Yeah, it's no question Super 17 was more powerful than SSJ4 Goku, this being the most recent/strongest version of Goku. Having infinite energy and the ability to absorb all types of energy is incredibly formidable. This Goku is likely more powerful than even the Ultra SSJ4 Goku from the Baby Arc, since he's been given more time to master the form. It's questionable whether Super 17 could beat Baby Vegeta if he became a SSJ4, but he could definitely beat Golden Oozaru Baby Vegeta - who was previously the strongest fighter.
