I'm glad we're finally getting some proper respect towards animation in the west it's literally perfect for every type of story and is way more than the flat unmoving images you find on kids shows nowadays also marvel and DC infinite earth (or whatever it's called) And for anyone arguing "it's for kids" just cause you don't like it or haven't seen some good stories animated doesn't mean it's for kids I mean literally 95% of people saying "animation is for kids" play videogames... How do you think games are made? Photos from the early 1990's? Also CGI it's literally animated effects "but that isn't for kids" "that's in that one movie about baking bread"

As someone who's first introduction to everything superheroes was the 2003 Teen Titans show, I completely agree with this. Animation is the one and only true medium for comic book characters and it truly understands their own art style, stories, and identity.

If live-action movies dared to give their films a unique style, it would be so much better. But everything feels the same, and the only one with a distinct style is Gunn. Most of them are just so visually bland

As much as I love the superhero movies whether it’s live action or animated, I’d choose animation because there’s more you can do in animation that you can’t in live action not to mention they rely too much on CGI.
@MatrixPlaza-SCBКүн бұрын
With DC Animation it shows how important animation is necessary to provide bigger or stronger storytelling for characters who are limited to a live action, a really good example is hulk. one of the biggest super heroes at time before the mcu, he had two live action films that were kind of a mess, but then in 2009 and 2010 he got three animated films around those times, showcasing how important, unique and powerful hulk is portrayed even in the hulk vs movies the Thor one, Banner is killed by Loki and lives this reality with Betty and a son, only to be swept away to be reunited with the hulk to save Asgard, he does not do it at first, but then has comes to terms with it, even Thor humbles Bruce’s bravery to give in and save Asgard despite his torment. Even planet hulk has a lot of meat on hulk, and shows how people see not as a monster, animated films we take for granted at times, because they really have more potential to showcase all kinds of characters and stories.

The old Marvel cartoons like EMH, The Super Hero Squad, X-Men, X-Men Evolution, Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man, Wolverine and the X-Men and Fantastic Four world's greatest Heroes are beautiful works due to them being more faithful to the comics as well as not having the same limitations as live action. Some of these cartoons were peak at the time and still are, but live action just can't do like the cartoons because there are limits to what an actor and crew can bring forth to screen. Sometimes, it works well enough, and other times, it misses the mark completely. The same applies to cartoons if not done right, but it applies to live action more heavily because of the amount of work and the process involved. Just my 2 cents as to why I agree 😅

Great video👍 glad people are starting to put some proper respect towards animation. Especially with how people have been s#itting on animation while loving videogames and CGI? I mean it's literally all animation. It's just dependent on whether it sells or not and with how little (no) respect people have towards it Of course it's not gonna sell, You can spend a fortune making the best animated best written show ever but if people don't watch it because "animation is for kids" it's just a waste of money and effort.

Animation is better for all fantastical stories, live action is better for more realistic ones, but both deserve love. Anyway, live action is the real world andsome (many?) people think more real=better. Probably, because a story that feels more real is considered to be more impactful and useful to society. In fact, many generalist viewers and cinephile are suspicious when it comes to live action movies that belong to a very fantastical gente, many times they need a specific approach and the vision of a specific author to make them appreciate these stories. It goes beyond the animation-live action debate, there Is a reason why the works that are considered masterpieces are usually the ones who talk about the world you live in more than just narrating a good story in a fantastical world

While I get wanting more animated works for superheroes. And I absolutely live projects like Spider-Verse & Marvel Rivals. I wouldn’t completely rule out live action works. Animation & Live Action are tools to tell a narrative & depending on what type of project you’re making dictates whether it should be live action or animated. A movie like Into The Spider-Verse works best in animation. But a movie like The Dark Knight works better in live action because live action has the benefit of trying to find out how many things you can change & how many things you can change. While I hate The Flash movie, I wouldn’t really say it’s because it’s a terrible Flashpoint adaptation. Because we already have a good adaptation in the animated version. So why do we need to see it again? If it is going to be in live action, why not change it to ft a new version. As long as the original story is still accessible & the original people get credited for the ideas. I don’t get why it has to be exactly the same. Especially when it’s Flashpoint, often criticised as being the only story writers want to adapt for the Flash when there’re so many others that they could do. Also a smaller thing to note. The Spider-Man mask criticism isn’t a Tom Holland thing specifically ya know. Yeah it’s distracting when it happens, but they’ve been doing that since the first Spider-Man movie. Even in the animated movies, Miles is basically unmasked for entire third act for ATSP because it’s simply easier to read the expressions on his face, especially for the longer dialogue scenes & Peter doesn’t even have his mask for that movie. It’s not a problem just for the Tom Holland movies. But whenever he’s brought up, people frame it as an example of vanity even though it’s been happening since these movies started.
@Gabrinerd-v1u3 күн бұрын
I totally get where you're coming from. I don’t hate live-action either, but I do notice a lack of effort from some directors to really understand what made the comic they’re adapting or the character itself so successful in the first place. When you compare the live-action X-Men movies to the more recent animated series, the difference is crystal clear. I’m not asking for an exact copy of the comics either, but look at how Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes adapted Thor while keeping what worked in the comics intact. Also, you're right about the Spider-Man unmasking criticism, it’s not just a Tom Holland thing, and I should’ve mentioned it’s something that happens with all actors who have played Spider-Man at some point.

Why Adult Animation Is Pivotal To The Entertainment Industry Slacker Cats, The Dating Guy, Sammy, Beavis and Butt-Head, Glenn Martin DDS and The Goode Family great shows and Flops like these make the American entertainment system better through failure, success, cult status and popularity more so the live action sitcoms from the '70s, '80s, '90s and early 2000's

Invincible's acting and directing do heavy lifting. The animation is mediocre, especially when looking at X-Men 97 and Creature Commandos. Might end up just dropping it and reading it instead, if the animation doesn't improve
