We just did. Became a contributor to your Patreon using my husband’s account. Best of lucks with your travel in Taiwan. No more broken items! 😊 And don’t forget to put on sunblock. BTW, I wonder if you can use Google Translator on your cell and have local people speak to the microphone for translation. It might help your communication with those who do not speak English.

That moo mobile b-roll....I could watch that 1000 times. Great points about the state of Taiwan tourism. It’s severely underrated. I think the language barrier might have something to do with it as well. English is not widely used. But it’s also fun to try to learn Chinese!

I actually was quite surprised when l was there at how many things are in English compared to other small countries in Asia or South America. You can also usually find someone who knows some English if you’re lost too. Personally l don’t want Taiwan to be overrun with tourists. Let’s just keep it between ourselves! 😁

I totally agree Taiwan is an under rated travel destination. Like you guys, before I went there, I didn't really have much passion for visiting, as you just never really here about it. The girl who became my wife is Taiwanese + I first visited there to meet her family etc. (we met overseas) + I was blown away by the country (as you say - the entire package - the scenery, the people, the food). As for the one key reason to visit (the Taj Mahal as you say) - I think Taroko could serve that role. I wonder if Taiwan's obscurity is partly to do with the lack of international space and visibility afforded it due to Chinese pressure. In any case, the result of fewer tourists leads to a more authentic experience. You feel less like you are following a well worn tourist path + actually discovering a new country and people's way of life. What an amazing place for you guys to land during this Pandemic! Keep spreading the good word.

That moment when the lady was so concentrated in explaining everything in Chinese even though you guys don’t understand a word was epic lolll How amazing you almost got it correct! One best thing about Taiwan people is they treat you equally no matter where you come from and what languages you speak with hospitality and warm hearts. I think you are right it’s people that makes Taiwan so precious but somehow it’s hard to explain to others. You have to come and feel it by yourselves 😊

Your videos are a delight to watch... I am in Kaohsiung, for me it has been a much longer stay then I had envisioned. I think you hit the nail on the head, Taiwan has never been high on my list, because it does not have that one feature that draws in the crowds. It does however have everything and is very pleasant to travel around in. I love I can sit at a coffee shop, leave for the bathroom (or even for 30 or more minutes to run an errand) and when I come back my phone and laptop are still there... I do not think I would try that in any other country. For those who like sports, Taiwan does have the KOM (a 90km bike ride up a 3.5km high mountain), great bike rides and great Triathlon races.

Taiwan is amazing and I love the country, spent 6 months there on a working holiday visa but it's not as well setup for international tourists compared to places like Thailand where you can always get an English menu and almost every shop has an English translation of its name. The Taiwanese government has done a very good job with dual languages on street signs and tourist attractions information plaques though. Before I went to Taiwan I had no idea that it really existed and the only reason I found out about it was because one of my favourite KZbinrs who lived in China moved there and said how good it was. Taiwan doesn't ever get a mention on our news in Australia and the whole time I was there I only met 2 other Aussies. But half of the young Taiwanese I spoke to had been to Australia and loved it.

If you’re in Sydney or Brisbane there is a large Taiwanese community and quite a few restaurants. Even now at Woolworths l can buy frozen green onion pancakes as well as Taiwanese sauces and drinks. Personally l’m glad Taiwan is not overrun with English signs as that’s the beauty of visiting a new country for me. They have enough for me to get by or there’s a local to help translate. If not, there’s always an app. I also like learning a bit of the local language.

Two places to avoid the excruciating summer heat in Taiwan: 1. Go to Taipei, where all the air conditionings are, or 2. Go to the mountains. The temperature drops 6 degree Celsius every 1000m. You can reach Hehuanshan (a high-altitude scenic route) or Qingjing farm (a popular mountain retreat) via Taroko National Park. Make sure there is no typhoon in sight should you decide to visit the mountains though.

You guys are really awesome. The scenery through your camera is sooo amazingly beautiful. The green fields of rice, the scattered sun beams pouring down through clouds and the distant mountain range in the background with the blue sky in contrast, everything so perfectly shot.

I watched your very first video about getting a mask on the street then this one just pops up again now. Can't believe you have already stayed in Taiwan for 3 months and also so gald to hear that you like this small and beautiful island. Formosa was given to it when Portuguese sailors sighted an uncharted island and noted it on their maps as Ilha Formosa. People believe those sailors found the island from Pacifica and that's where this video was shot as well. Hope you enjoy the rest of your trip and stay safe always.

The April and May time is also my favorite time to come back to Taiwan. I would stay maybe stay past May a bit to enjoy my favorite fruit, lychee. Or I would come a bit earlier to enjoy the flower season, but March may be a little bit rainy and cold.

@@NaickKim I dare not stay past middle of June. It's too hot for me even in Taipei. I visited the south in July when I was young, and I was sick due to the heat. I think I would visit the south in winter.

@@NaickKim Though it is very hot in summer, most of the amazing fruits are in that season, like mango, lychee, pineapple....etc. The mango season starts from Jun. and end in Sep. You can try the freshest and sweet mango in Taiwan, also recommend you to try mango shaved ice.

Love every video you make in Taiwan! And so happy you enjoy this journey by accident. If you are now in Green island. Don't miss the chance to see the sunrise on the hill nearby the spot called "Chao-jih hot spring " . The sunrise time is about am 5:10 this season. Ride the scooter to get there before dawn ( after parking your scooter, still need 10 or 15 minutes to walk up the hill ) . And do be careful when driving in the dark : ) Or, if you like, you can go there in the night time and enjoy the hot spring under the starry night. Yes, Green island is a good place to see the starry sky, sometimes the Meteor shower, if you are lucky enough! Don't forget to make wish! It will come true!

You guys video make me cry... As a taiwanese, I think we are not really famous in the world, is underrated. But also compare others countries like Thailand , Philippines ...etc , not so popular, maybe is the language. In Taiwan you leave big city, then not much people can speak English, so traveller are scared about this. Hope after you guys recommend, will more traveller wanna visit ! I really appreciate you guys like Taiwan ♥️ Taiwan is small, but is amazing. Thank you!
