台灣 山區時常有大雨和濃霧， 所以 山區開車的人 ，會習慣性的警示燈打開， 因為有些時候是道路 連續小轉彎， 在你小轉彎後第一眼看到的是警示燈，然後才是車體， 這個在 有濃霧時特別有 用， 在 高速公路時 只要 大雷雨， 前方路況不明 很多車子 也會把警示燈 打開，這些都只是 讓後方車子 注意自己車子 距離， 開不開警示燈 政府並沒有 規定， 但是 民眾為了保護自己 愛車， 在 只要能見度很低的道路或山區， 都會開啟警示燈。

的確，但其實這樣做是很危險的事，因為當你要變換車道打方向燈時，警示燈仍會兩邊都閃爍，方向燈起不了作用，對於後方或對向來車根本無法得知你要變換車道，很危險啊!

開霧燈就好 根本不用閃，如果真的有危險的時候根本不知道你是危險，還是只是想當霧燈閃，我曾經大雨在高速公路就是有一堆人閃燈，結果後來遇到車禍，差點就反應不過來，還以為他是閃霧燈。

簡單說那是以前舊車沒有霧燈時代留下來的習慣，本來以為是老人家才會用，後來發現一代傳一代還是有些人這樣做，警示燈還是保留給緊急狀況用。否則就跟“狼來了”故事一樣，後車根本不曉得前車現在是不是真的遇到狀況了

About 30 years ago, I drove by around the highest point in the middle of a night of the Autumn. The road condition was not as good as present tome. I met a Taiwan Black Bear sleeping on the side of the road, and two special breed of scruirels with huge tail. Now, that area has become a Dark-sky preserve and park.

Great episode! This is the best demonstration of the diversity of landscapes and climates in Taiwan and easy access to them in just one day. Beautiful scenery! My favorite was the Qingshui Cliffs. I would definitely get carsick on those road turns at high altitude. I’m glad that you teamed up with IWS car rental. Yes, it’s common here in Taiwan to turn on the emergency lights of a car to alert others when there’s bad weather, poor visibility or encountered sudden slow down. You can do the same as we do.

One of the best part after reaching your destination from the road trip to the mountains in Taiwan is having a cup/ bowl of Taiwanese instant noodles!! That will keep the body warm in the chill temperature and wash away a little bit of the car sick. 😁 It works for me every time. I miss the view but don't miss the curvy roads.

Good to see you pair up with the car rental company, driving is the best way to explore mountains in Taiwan. See how happy Naick’s face is, haha. And Kim, the roads in the mountains are really making people carsick! Actually we call this kind of turn “hair pin curve”, because it is like the tip of a hair pin and it is 360 degree turn.😁 Next time when you start feeling it, pull over to take a 5 minutes break, it will make you feel better. When people in Taiwan say it’s foggy and misty in the mountains, we mean it literally! It’s like you can NOT see anything in the front, not even the road/direction, so wake up early and get on the road early would be much safer when taking a road trip into mountains. You are intelligent travelers, as you get more and more popular in Taiwan, more companies will seek an opportunity to pair up with you. That will definitely make your adventures in Taiwan more easily. Best wish.
