“Tamlin did nothing to help Feyre UTM, he just made out with her!!” But he literally saved her from having to be UTM and she was the one who made the choice to come back to rescue him?!

SJM did him bad, he deserves a redemption arc. Not necessarily a fluffy one but I want to see him in peace with a healthy mental health. He needs to deal with his issues, work to be a better man (for himself) and apologise to Feyre, Lucien and his Court. He needs to move on too omg, travel or something :/ And I feel like a lot of people lack realism in this fandom, I know how we get when immersed in books but all his actions are quite logical? It doesn’t excuse it but acting like he’s evil when he’s not is not cool guys :/

I feel the same. I just don't hate Tamlin the way everyone else does. I just see a broken man that doesn't know how to cope with loss and rejection. He is traumatized by his fears and it blinds him to the needs of those around him. SJM goes on this who kick of how to deal with trauma if you are a woman, but doesn't really do that for the men. I mean, Cassian killed an entire village and nobody stopped him. They just said, do what you need to do to heal bro. And the inner circle is always talking about killing Lucien's family whenever Mor gives the go ahead. Killing isn't healing, it's revenge.

I feel like the author has this obsession with Rhys so much that she basically glorified him through every chapter. Making the readers think he is bf goal and Tamlin is the devil. We can also see her obsession with Rhys when he is now crossing over into CC. Like, she wants his character to be this high ruler of every realm. I don’t see any of the characters or majority of the readers give him as much hell, or any hell, about anything that he did as they did with Tamlin. When you think about it, they did the exact same thing multiple times, except one gets praised for caring while the other gets bashed for being controlling/abuse/neglect. since so many asked for a redemption for Tamlin and how she did him wrong, it’s like ok, we’re close to the end, let’s throw him a piece of bone and get his character over with. She also mentions Rhys alot in most of her interviews. But I rarely hear her say anything about Tamlin. The part where Rhys came to Spring too see Tamlin after the war and basically tells him he deserves it and to rot, for some reason I feel like that is the author’s word to Tamlin herself. I honestly can’t stand Rhys or Feyre. I feel like they are both manipulative. See how everyone glorifies Rhys in every book through Feyre’s POV, but through Nesta’s POV, nobody can stand him or his actions? Same goes with Tamlin. They see him through Rhys and Feyre’s POV as the bad guy, the devil so they put so much hate on him. It’s really unfair. #TeamTamlin

i agree with you , both of them are toxic in their own way , none of them are good and tamlin deserves to heal and have a healthy life

A slide show and a Venn Diagram! You are my people! I totally agree with all of your points. Tamlin is now my favorite character because I feel so bad for him. He is one of the nicest characters but was destroyed by a terrible upbringing and loads of trauma. He definitely deserves a redemption arc!

Tamlin saved Feyre's life. Multiple times. Let's count: 1. Saved Feyre's life when he refused to take "eye for an eye" and actually obey the old agreement about the killing of fae by mortals. 2. Saved Feyre's life from naga's attack. 3. Gave his magic to resurrect her therefore saving her life one more time. 4. Saved her life when she was losing it because of Rhys' death by resurrecting him.

I am on this team, but to be honest I hate Rhysand. I hate him because all the bad things he did are not taken seriously, live ever.

I would love a book from Tamlin's perspective where we delve into his character more and show that he isn't that bad, of course, I don't think SJM will do it, but I really want it to happen

Honestly, I can't believe how people fawn over Rhys and Feyre while berating and absolutely dogging on Tamlin. Rhys practically had things set up for him with all the support and plot armor the author gave him, and he knew what he was doing, meanwhile Tamlin was set up for disaster and everyone seems to think its all his fault.

@@thatcat5401 😭😭 do you still think tamlin deserved better? I still sympathize with him a lot :')) trauma is tough, I've done bad stuff when dealing with my mental health issues too and I don't see why that made tamlin into an irredeemable villain.
@thatcat54012 жыл бұрын
@@ettaetta439 kind of, yeah. I mean, nowadays I stopped liking acotar, so I have different thoughts about how sjm put stuff in there. She pretty much realised she made rhysand muuch of an evil guy in the first book, so to make things "fair" she made tamlin look worse in the readers/feyres eyes. I definitely think he deserved better than what sjm gave him. I mean, his whole family was murdered, he took the blame for his entire court being cursed because he didn't want to lay with someone who disgusted him, and yet hes this evil villain with no redemption?? Sjm went there and wrote a FICTIONAL world and went "hmm, what if they are sexist?" and then proceeded to be MAD about the consequences of doing that...? She didn't even write a proper mc that actually fights the patriarchy, pretty much most of the things feyre "conquers" are given to her by rhysand instead of herself. Ok, well, went off track here, but yeah, Tamlin deserved better, he had a loooot of trauma to be unpacked and sjm treated it like nothing. I can understand Feyre wanting to leave to take care of her own traumas, but why come back to destroy all he had left??? 😭 poor man you know btw it's been two years since I read acotar so *some* things may be a lil bit off 🕴

I’m really torn on Tamlin’s treatment because it’s a good moral that sometimes you can have people in your life who are toxic, or become toxic or were secretly toxic. Sometimes they aren’t even that bad they’re just a bad fit for you. Sometimes these people can even be people you love. And sometimes the only thing you can do is let them go before they drag you down with them. But also Tamlin could really use a therapist. He needs anger management and therapy.

I just have to object to one point in the ' Rhys ain't perfect part' Made bargain for his own benefit Aham! ..it clearly is a false statement..he made that bargain to show amantha that he really does not give a shit about feyre's wellbeing but after all the under the mountain part he never used that bargain ...he didn't come for three months ..he only showed up when feyre needed a rescue So it was not for his own benefit I always had a soft part for tamlin and never truly hated him .so no offense I believe after the under the mountain part it was the lack of communication between tamlin and feyre that started a problem..if they had talked and been there for each other's nightmares ,then maybe their relationship had been worked out. So both are at fault Also tamlin didn't have any right to control feyre..but we can excuse that for his own mental condition...they both had been broken...

Its really interesting to get a different pov for once so props to you. I just want to point out that they had similar upbringings and were at one point friends so one could argue the were both given similar opportunities to become the people they are in the book. But these people are fictional characters created to drive the plot so I can forgive tamlin for being tamlin however if this was someone in real life I wouldn't be so forgiving. Thank you for listening to my Ted talk.

I know little to nothing about this series, just that is has horny fairies and reviewers up the ying. So I didn't read the books. All I know is that no one who wrote/read the books read the original beauty and the beast, Hades and Persephone story, or the Tale of Tam Lin. Read all three, you won't be disappointed. What got me more invested in his character is how Feyra gave the author’s husbando her Dear John letter to deliver. That's cold right there. That villain material.

I was thinking the same thing! Reading all the tamlin hate on reddit, the hypocrisy between loving rhysand and hating Tam. Feyre's overly cruel revenge, Rhysand's kicking him while he's down after Tam helped bring the man back from the dead??? All this I've learned from KZbin reviews but damn if I want to have him forget about them.
