At intro 15 seconds in.... "Good schooling for my kids, no over-crowded classrooms here". I remember recording that line at the Department of Film Production, 64 Brisbane Street, where I worked. But it was early 70's I believe.

I lived in Melbourne and my grandparents lived in Launceston. Mum would put me on a plane from five years old, in 1976, by myself and the hosties would look after me until my grandmother picked me up at the airport.

How far we've come in such a short span of time. Boyer is now self sufficient with plantation timber, the zinc works cleanly lives alongside residential areas that are beautiful, Burnie has turned into a truly amazing place with aquamarine coastline and zero stink, mining processes have matured, and tourism is now a major economy. We still have challenges ... but why Tasmania? For too many reasons to mention in 16 minutes. $0.02

Beautiful scenery but that's all. My first 25 years were in Tasmania. Schooling was terrible and the nepotism for jobs is appalling.

LINC Tasmania Do you have any videos of 10 Murray Street Government offices?
@LibrariesTasmania7 жыл бұрын
No, I'm sorry. It doesn't look like we have anything that mentions 10 Murray Street. There could be an incidental shot of them somewhere in a film after 1969, when the government offices were built, but nothing that has been mentioned in our descriptions.

For me, the sixties ones are more captivating. This one seems flat. Also, the film quality seems cheap. Valuable as a historical docuument tho.
