I love TLR, but this video is grossly anti-Kanye. I know that Kanye can be an idiot sometimes, but TLR is trying way too hard to push an anti-Kanye agenda. He doesn’t even try to show Taylor’s wrongs (though they’re aren’t as many as Kanye’s), and his arguments aren’t reliable at all. For large chunks of the video, he legitimately comes across as a Taylor stan. For example, Taylor’s WHO donation link is presented without any critical analysis as some selfless action without mention of the alternate viewpoint (and one I first assumed) that it was just pandering and done for good press, because “who can criticize a charitable person?” This video completely fails to present a legitimate, believable narrative on any level.

I’m like the biggest Kanye west fan, but it’s like totally obvious what Kanye did at the vmas was completely out of line and absolutely humiliating for a breakout artist like Taylor, Kanye had drank an entire bottle of Henny that night and made a terrible fucking decision. And then Beyoncé literally won video of the year so it was completely unnecessary. When it comes to the famous lyric, I absolutely love that line, it makes the entire song, and fits perfectly in the theme of the first half of TLOP. That being said, even though Taylor agreed to most of the lyric, technically Kanye never said he was going to say bitch, and the call released by Kim K was edited, the conversation was like 20 mins, and he definitely had to really work to get her to agree with it. At the end of the day if kanye didn’t actually believe what he said in that line, it would be perfect, unfortunately it still seems like in the call that Kanye genuinely believed that he did make Taylor famous because he didn’t know who Taylor swift was before the 2009 VMAs At the end of the day, Kanye is a very troubled man, who is wrought with grief and loss, further exacerbating his serious mental health issues, and despite that, has been able to make some of the best albums of the last and this generation.

You summed up what I was thinking very well. Only thing I would add is that Taylor absolutely was not the innocent angel she is portrayed to be by Ross, that’s what really pissed me off.
