The problem with rubber is that is very soft and the rubbery seam will wither away quickly giving no seam movement after 30-40 balls. The rest of the ball (soft and smooth and not shiny and unevenly heavy like leather ball) being very resistant to the air moving over it will become slow in the air hence will not help the swing bowlers, coz the ball has to get unevenly shiny or heavy to get swing. I hope this clears ur doubt!
