Tennis discussion often devolve into GOAT discussions. Andy Murray does not belong in that discussion (which is BS anyway), but he does sit at the pinnacle of those who are not in that discussion. Personally, I'd list him as among the top 30 players of all time. He was (and is) a superb tennis player who was the one single player who could hang with the B3, day-in-day-out, during the imperial era. No, he didn't often beat them, but he did get wins and was always a tough out. I think the single most significant factor that prevented him for achieving at the B3 level was that he lacked the absolute belief that they possessed.

He is also looks like one of the Spidermen from the 2010’s 😉.

Ha, the idea that Andy had a bad forehand. We are talking fractions of a percent difference.

he was a full member of the BIG4 club till 2017. only now we see that those 3 guys were better. Back then you could not tell. That is his major achievement

Stan Wawrinka won just as many majors as Murray. The "Big 4" was never really a thing. It was the Big 3 plus Andy and Stan a tier below.

I'm so sick of this argument. Take away GS's and look at the stats and the trophies that Andy has won, then at Stans...there is no comparison between them. Murray is several levels above Stan.

@@nathanbacon1998 Head to Head: Wawrinka 9, Murray 13. That is not a "several levels" difference.

@@grevinlew Look at their trophies, then come back to me.

@@nathanbacon1998 Sorry, but if your primary criterion is trophies, then Jimmy Connors is the greatest player of all time which is ridiculous.

@@grevinlew Oh my God...let me put this into simple terms for you. If you're making a comparison between two players, then you can't just use their h2h and GS count. You have to consider ALL their stats. Murray has 46 titles all together. Stan has 16. That's THIRTY more trophies. A big difference. Lets take a look at those trophies. GS: Murray has 3 and so does Stan. However Murray has reached more finals. Masters: Murray has 14 and Stan has 1. One... Olympic Gold Medals: Murray has 2 BACK TO BACK. Stan has no singles medals. ATP World Tour Finals: Murray has one, stan has none. World Number 1 ranking: Murray has been world number 1 and Stan's highest ranking is 3. Its really not that hard to understand. Murray maintained a higher level of tennis throughout his career. Wawrinka had "moments" in his. When Stan was on, he was on. But he didn't maintain it for long. Just tell me you started watching tennis yesterday. I'll believe you.
