Thanks for shining a light on this superb overlooked label. As you say a great company to deal with. I'm enjoying my latest purchase - the two volumes of Rabin's Mosaics - definitely worth exploring especially if you are in the UK - simply cannot go wrong at £20 with free postage.

Thank you for another great video, Anthony. You are my go-to channel for all things Classical. I bought 3 of the Bruckner Testament reissues on your recommendation and have been very happy with them. I live in London and have been building a Classical collection, many purchased from Charity Shops! I have about 40 EMI postage stamp pressings, including the Rachmaninov (one of my favourites), which I’ve purchased for about £2 each. Keep up the great work.

Thank you so much for the kind words, John. Why not “hop on” to our Livestream and show some of your charity shop gems. Quite late live for London, but maybe if you could sleep in Thursday :) Thx again.

Great video! I second your opinion regarding Hi-Q. I got the mentioned Bruckner 9 on Testament last week. What a great record!

I’m stumped re Hi-Q. The Beecham Heldenleben is very good, after that, just awful. Opportunity missed happily taken up by Testament. Thank you, Michael.

These Testament releases are indeed a godsend for those of us who can't find or afford the originals. In addition to the Kogan Beethoven, there is another Kogan Beethoven that had never been released on lp. The mono releases are equally wonderful, and the Rabin and Milstein discs are wonderful.

Thanks for this very informative video, as always! Side note about about the pressings: The leaflet you showed says records are pressed at EMI Records' plant in Hayes (UK), which is kinda weird for me. That plant, under this name, closed almost 25 years ago, but new owner continued to press there. I believe that currently, the company operating the plant is called The Vinyl Factory Manufacturing. I have a few of those Testament reissues, but never found any leaflet inside them, nor any good credit about the pressing plant. (no obvious sign of being Testament reissues neither, BTW). A few months ago, I contacted Testament directly, I was namely inquiring about the Callas - French Operatic Arias (Orchestre National De La RTF-G. Prêtre - SAX 2410), which I bought as a new-old-stock last year. Probably pressed before 2004. I got the reply that all of Testament's reissues are pressed by Record Industry (The Netherlands).

Thank you Maestro. Have a couple of these and they are great. Wasn’t Michelangeli Moravec’s teacher? Moravec on Connoisseur recorded by the great David Jones sounds stunning. But I digress.

It's a shame that Previn's Rachmaninoff Second Symphony with the LSO is out of print. It's the finest recording of Rachmanioff's Second I've ever heard. First class in every way. I believe Previn's was the first recording of the complete symphony. It was recorded in Kingway Hall London in 1973 after a long far east tour and they had the music in their bones. The Penguin Record Guide said it "Sweeps the Board" and it really does. The finale of the symphony has a tremendous electricity and power that's unforgettable. I think it's the best thing Previn ever did. Recordings this great should never be out of print!

The good news is that there are lower prices now for OGs NM. I got mine for $30 plus shipping. The OG EMIs are amazing.

I have just discovered you and your channel tonight. You are not the reincarnated embodiment of Seymour DeKoven by any chance?
