Why the 2017 Volvo V90 Cross Country is better than the XC60!

I agree with you Kris, I prefer a wagon or large car over an suv anyday and I think that Volvo is simply the best when I comes to a large, safe family luxury wagon.

This is indeed a lovely car. It was my choice of Volvo when I was looking for a car earlier this year. What a disappointment when I tried one out though. It just didn’t fit. Or rather, I didn’t fit it! The very thing Kris liked about it, that it is a low slung V90 body on a raised chassis meant that the height distance between the seat cushion and top of the door pillar meant that I had to bend my head under the roof to get in. Getting out is worse, because the A pillar sweeps back so far that no advantage is gained from bending forwards. I was gutted. This is the only reason I would choose an XC60 over the V90CC and ended up buying the more expensive XC90. Shorter and younger people will get on just fine with the CC, just as Kris has done. I just wish I did. Also to note is that the side cladding is grey plastic as standard. This looks cheap in combination with some body colours but is ok with others. Body colour cladding is available only with some body colours at extra cost. Also the interior trim is limited to black wood. Have a look at the newly announced V90CC Ocean Racing edition, available only in white. It is spectacular!

Huw Williams I agree, beautiful car and desirable, but I feared that entry would be no better than my present V70 mk2 my wife has banged her head countless times! because of the low roof line! so gutted that it will still be a problem even in a CC, so it’s going to have to be a Volvo XC60 for me, either way Volvo win !

If it is the same price I would definitely go for the V90CC instead of the new XC60.But my problème is : it is way too long (near 4,95m I think} for my city garage. Anyway, thank you for this video, I will consider this V90CC as an alternative to the new XC60.

My favourite Volvo as well. Just one big problem. Price. Tested a D5, price was 90000 Euro as tested. And a normal V90 starts at 42000.

To my knowlage the only shared parts are the steering wheel, Sensus infotainment system, some other switch gear and the door handles. So everything other than those parts!

Only looking at the door-panels... v90 has wood and chrome inserts in all 4 doorpanels, xc60 has not. v90 has top part of doorpanels made with same (expensive) material of the dashboard, xc60 uses a cheaper kind of foil.

For me it would be like this: 1. XC90 (Just the best) 2. V90CC (Would be number 1 but I prefer an SUV) 3. XC40 (Just for the styling) 4. V90 (The best station-wagon in my opinion) 5. S90 (With the exterior sport-package) 6. XC60 (I'm still not 100% sure of this one) And now I can only dream of ever owning just 1 xD

If you think stationwagons are cool, come here to Sweden, 90% of our population drives stationwagons (swedish=Kombi). Volvos Kombis have been the best selling cars (by faaaaar) in sweden for more than 20 years. And i ordered a V90CC 2 weeks ago, thats why im looking at this video right now :) (Ah, just now i saw that you are from Norway, :,D , då har du redan varit i Sverige och ni har ju såklart nästan lika mycket kombis ni oxå ;) )
