You're right. It's Nasty Work. Both Sony and Microsoft should eat the cost of giving us more storage. They have metrics and they know how many times a user has uninstalled and redownloaded titles they own or access via GamePass/ PS Plus. The consoles are just hitting their strides but that minimal storage is the least costly upgrade they could make and they really should have offered this in 2020.

I got a Xbox Series X with 2TB SSD and a 12TB HDD (for cold storage). I have a PS5 with 2TB SSD. I am upgrading my PS5 to the PS5 Pro with the additional 2TB SSD from the PS5. I will uprade the Xbox Series X when the Next-Gen Xbox drops.

EVERY. SINGLE. TIME! I like to think I made the right decision going with the Xbox ecosystem. I've spent way less money than I would have on other Platforms. That's not a bad thing for me. I am 35 with multiple kids and BIG BILLS. I need to be smart with my purchases and so far, Xbox has allowed me to do just that.

So for me I looked at just picking up the Carbon Black and the 1TB Seagate expansion card as far as what it would cost me or just get the 2TB version.. Here in Canada the Carbon Black is still going for $649 and the Seagate 1TB is $204.. Adding that up and slapping our taxes into it (13%) it would have cost me in total $963.. The 2TB Galaxy is running at $800 ($903 total).. Happy with my decision..

Woah....I didn't even factor in the prices in other countries. My eyes are bleeding after reading your comment. Not because you said anything wrong....but because I would hate gaming if it cost that much. We may be in for another Gaming Industry collapse like the late 70s. We need some sort of reset era. The prices should not be creeping up like this for something that is a hobby for most and a job for some. My hats off to you man. In your situation, it absolutely makes sense. I think saving $?CAD 60 (not sure if Canadian dollars use the same symbol. I'm a naive person when it comes to currencies) is not entirely worth it for some people. I am contemplating because I know exactly where I can sell my console and get $300 - $350 USD for it, essentially allowing me to pay the additional $250 - $300 to get the 2 tb model. NO it isn't Gamestop as they wont give me diddly squat for it. I got connections tho and I can easily make the transaction happen.

They sell some console wraps for Series X tho, customised ones or for example Starfield wrap, wich probably sold only one year ago. I found some cool Halo vinyl sticker for console and controller for Series S from 3rd party site. Over all they say that Xbox is busy with making next gen console already and we might see it launch sooner than we think, thats why no pro console for xbox in this gen.

Yeah, even though I have a perfectly working Series X right now....I'm not gonna lie, I'm so tempted to get the 2tb model. I've been all digital since the Xbox 360 era. So I'm tired of moving games back and forth from my internal to my external 8tb drive. Plus I've been wishing that Xbox release a special edition console for a while, just to add some flavor. I figure, this is about as close as I'll get to that, lol.

Went to a local gamestop to pre-order the 2 tb and the manager had no clue about this.they said to check with them on Monday.told them it was supposed to be released October 15th.only info they saw on their system is the white digital only 1tb series x.resently got back into gaming after 7 year hiatus a few months ago and was going to upgrade and get the 1tb series x but saw this 2tb version and i really prefer that one.anyone know if its still coming out or only the digital version like the store is saying?btw im playing the gears version of xbox one s.love the red cosmetics but its way underpowered to the series x.

I’m all for Xbox. Had the series X since launch. But not sure about this mid gen refresh. Same performance as the og series X. With some paint speckles (does Look kinda cool lol) but I would rather keep the og and upgrade my 1tb expansion to 2tb expansion for a lot cheaper and have 3tb of memory

See that's the thing. They aren't mid-gen refreshes. They are a shrunken down SOC sku that lowers the cost of manufacturing and is more power efficient. Also a 1tb cf card is $160 regularly. The 2tb is $249. $500 for the OG SX plus $249 is $749. In comparison $500 for OG SX plus $160 is $660. If you didn't have the 2020 model and you wanted 2tb while saving $60 on the difference in price, then the Galaxy black is a better option. I'm trying to talk myself out of selling my 2020 model and buying the Galaxy. However I am tired of copying my games back and forth so. Who knows.

Do you already own an Xbox? I'm curious 🧐... As I mentioned, I already have both Series consoles. I'm admittedly okay with my 8tb external HDD, but I will admit that I would absolutely use all 2tb of space internally if I had that available to me. I feel like The 2tb Series X is what should have released alongside the 1tb Series X and 512gb Series S. Microsoft was most likely waiting for the cost of SSDs to come down in price so they are not losing hundreds of dollars on the device. It's a shame, because they could have followed a similar model to the Xbox 360 and offered the higher storage and I'm sure it would have sold, especially when the main point of contention with the X is that 1tb means nothing in a world full of 300gb games (looking at you COD 👀).

I prefer to hotswap the card, not to use internal storage on any of them, because once the internal SSD goes, the console cannot be repaired (look up Cod3r). When I put my card in my Reggie it's just as good as the Galaxy. 😉

As mentioned, it's not for everyone. But for those people that KNOW they are going to have COD (300gb), GTAV (120gb), NBA2K (75gb), RedDead2 (100gb) installed on their console, it makes more sense than you might think. {I'm just using these games as an example of how easy it is to fill up 1tb} Out of 1tb you only have roughly 800gb available to use for games. If someone (like myself) has the aforementioned games installed, they are going to be forced to delete and redownload multiple times. ESPECIALLY if they want to play #GamePass games on day1. I'll agree with other people, and be the first to admit - I HATE the price. $600 is nasty work. The 2tb should be $500, the digital Series X should be $449.99, the 1tb Blk Series X should be $399.99, the 1tb Series S could stay at $349.99 and the 512gb Series S COULD (but shouldn't) be at $299.99. In EVERY previous console Gen, 4 years in the consoles had come way down in price. That hasn't happened this time around for "reasons". The way I see it though, at least they didn't do some dumb sh*t like try to price it at $700 like another company did.

I appreciate you for watching and I'm glad you were able to gain knowledge from this video. This Xbox won't make sense to most ppl, and that's okay. This is a device for the ppl still on Gen 8 (Xbox One/ One X) that are interested in the expansion card and Series X. It's a cheaper way to get more storage right out the box. This isn't for ppl like you or I that own a Series X already. I look at it as Microsoft's last ditch effort to maximize their console fanbase because they aren't converting Nintendo or Sony customers to buy a console. One more quick note, I'm an Xbox insider tester as well and we've been putting in feedback for an Xbox with more storage for some years. I look at this decision as Xbox's way to have an answer to a problem that has plagued Gen 9 - (lack of storage space on PS5 and Xbox) I personally stopped buying consoles from GameStop because I got a Switch that was "refurbished" (so they claim) but I found out that it was water damaged and they never told me. It was the OLED model. Içve also bought headsets from them that last 1 - 3 months and then break. As someone that used to fix consoles and controllers, I highly recommend buying compressed air from Amazon or a rechargeable keyboard cleaner. Dust out your Series X (and any other electronics) weekly. This will minimize dust and particulate build up and can greatly extend the life of your devices.

I own 3 gaming PC a rog ally and none of these pc gaming for me is what it’s cracked up to be. I rather console gaming any day of the week… I know how to tweak the settings do all the different shit ya have to individually enhance each game.. I don’t really care about..that main reason I have played a lot of PC gaming RTS games like StarCraft always been supported better on there but if Mircosoft Xbox continues the support of RTS development on Xbox consoles then I am all onboard… Playing Age of empires games on halo series x is great and halo wars 1 and 2 are great…

Yeah that's a good plan. I'm currently looking to upgrade my PC by choosing the components that will give me the most value for my upgrade. Especially because I want to increase my production value. The cost of the GPU i WANT is the cost of the newer 2tb Galaxy Black Xbox. My Series X is working just fine. So I will most likely go with a GPU, higher wattage Power Supply, and add in more USB 3.1 Ports. I'm hoping people vote with their wallets to let these companies know that the $500 market price is the sweet spot and anything above that is PC territory. However, I do think that Microsoft/ Xbox won't charge more than $600 for the next Gen Xbox. Even if it's a loss for them. I hypothesize that the handheld will be $399 and the next Gen Series X replacement will be $599.

That I can agree with. I didn't get to go more in detail in the video, but realistically I want price drops across the board like we've ALWAYS seen in past generations. My purpose for making this video was to speak to everyone and point out who might benefit from purchasing the $600 XSX Galaxy Black edition. @prez3756 what they're bringing out is a way to avoid paying MORE money to buy a WD or Seagate expansion card. What they're doing is the polar opposite of Sony. There's no WAY that an upgraded GPU (that they get from AMD in bulk) costs $700. PS5PRO is definitely a cash grab, whereas the 2tb Series X is a way to save those interested in getting into this generation with more storage, a cheaper option to do so. Believe me when I tell you, I would be the FIRST to call Xbox on their bullshit if they were doing the console player wrong. I have a mid-range PC rig and I still play Xbox primarily because the amount of money I save by using GamePass and the frequency of games going on sale is way higher than PC.

You're not wrong! You cannot buy 1tb for $50 (yet). So a special paint job may cost $20, + $10 to add it to the controller. Add in the (presumably) $50 increase to price for the bulk rate they get on SSDs and Microsoft may only make $30. But in actuality, they are simply losing less money and NOT making a profit. Charging $100 more means they are making smart decisions to increase overall value for Xbox ecosystem champions. If my 13 yr old wants a Series X, I'll give him my current model and buy myself the $600 for the color way and added storage. They definitely changed something, but some people are expecting PS5 PRO to be a "God send" when it will be a incremental upgrade at best.

I feel like the parity clause was not the cause of missing Xbox's platform. GS (Wukong developer) are used to developing on Mobile platforms and they have some experience with PC. The time, resources and money it would have taken them to get the Xbox version ready to launch with PS was too high for a company that was unsure of whether this game would be popular in the Western market. This also includes the time it would take to optimize the game for Series S. That's a huge gamble for any company/publisher. The same issue is the reason why games are coming to the Xbox platform later (see: SIFU). To be honest, as an Xbox player with GamePass, I am in No rush to play games immediately. In fact, a lot of the narrative that Series S is holding Xbox back, stems from the fact that people today have this inherent fear of missing out (FoMo). I waited to get SIFU (this is just one example) and içve bought it now that it is on sale AND on GamePass. I like it that much. It may not make sense for you to buy the new Series X, but it makes sense for alot of people in the Gaming space.

There's a certain level of know-how and patience that comes with PC gaming. That's always been the main draw for consoles. Buy a game, put it in (download it nowadays) and just play. Maybe, just maybe look at the options menu and change to Quality or Performance mode. But other than bugs and missing games from platforms, it's just a more streamlined experience on console. I Love my PC, BUT I should have saved up more money before purchasing so I could get a better GPU. RTX 3060 is just 'OK'. Nothing mind-blowing and I often find myself back on my Xbox or using Cloud gaming from my bedroom

I appreciate you for checking out the video bro. Mentally $700 is a sticker shock price. Especially if you don't have a full library of digital games on Sony's platform. $600 is not far off from that. The main difference being that added internal storage offers a great price to value ratio. $600 only makes sense if you do not own a Series X and want the added storage upfront so you don't end up spending more money later on. On the other hand though, $700 +$80 disc drive to play used games +$30 to use the console the way it's advertised is not a great price to value ratio for me. I tend to buy the highest end items and give my oldest Son my previous device and give his previous device to the kid right below his age. So on & so forth. In this case, I don't mind waiting for Gen 10 consoles. I'll vote with my wallet: "Neither $600 nor $700 is a good price for a console". That's mid-range PC (pre built prices). Both PS and Xbox release their games on PC. So that's where I would recommend people invest their money instead.

Ps5 is outselling Xbox series x/s 3 to 1. Xbox barely has any exclusives. The new Xbox’s have nothing new and are overpriced and yes the ps5 pro is overpriced but it’s upgraded a lot and that’s more than Xbox fans can say. More stats? The ps2 outsold the og Xbox by so much. The og Xbox only sold 24 million the ps2 sold 158 million and was the best selling console of all time. The Xbox 360 was released a year before ps3 and ps3 was discontinued a year before Xbox 360 so Xbox 360 had 2 more years to sell and ps3 still outsold it. And the ps4 sold more than double the Xbox one. And when the newest consoles came out the Xbox series x/s had a head start and ps5 outsold it by its first day so obviously all PlayStations are better than all Xbox’s

Series S is a failure, has ruined the Xbox ecosystem and scared third party developers and publishers off the platform. Series X has not proven itself to be any more powerful than PS5 and is bleeding titles to Sony's system. I respect your opinion, but I have to disagree with you. Not sure if you're an Xbox owner, but we eating good over here. I have 2 Series S consoles and a Series X. The Series S was perfect for my kids and when I travel. It still plays all of my games that are on the Series X. If I'm playing on Series S, I'm not worried about hitting 4K60. I understand that it was made to upscaled not push native. I feel like Microsoft is just hitting their stride now. Plus when you compare the $600 Xbox to the $700 PS5PRO or the $1000 PS5PRO 30th anniversary, it doesn't make sense to spend that much for a marginal increase to graphics and it includes a disc drive without any extra purchase. Sony is milking its fans.

So many games run so poorly on the system. Developers would rather not make games for Xbox at all if it means they are forced into making a Series S version. This will only get worse as the years pass. As for comparing Series X to Pro, there is no real comparison. Pro is much more powerful. The competition for Series X is the base PS5, which is proving to be easily as fast and appears to be getting even Microsoft made games at this point! If you like Microsoft games just buy a PC. If you like console games buy a PS5, there are three good options to suit all budgets and the PS5 version of games either run and look a lot better than Series S or at least the same as Series X.

I personally think that the reason Xbox didn't do a "Series X squared" is because the improvement would have been marginal at best. If anything we would probably get to see upscaling help the console get to 4K60 (*in some games, not all). Like you said 45% increase is not as big of a leap as it sounds on paper. There are so many more factors like rasterization or ray tracing cores. I believe that the PS5 PRO will be a more consistent and stable box due to the bump in GPU power but realistically it's just changing the bottleneck from the GPU to the CPU

You're entitled to your opinion but AMD hasn't come close to nVidia in terms of ray-tracing and upscaling. That's why Sony is so brutishly pushing PSSR tech because they want to distance themselves from FSR 3. I'll be the first to admit that the PS5 PRO will most likely be more powerful than Series X, but it will not come close to triple the power. For something like that we'll need to wait until Gen 10.
