Don’t waste your time on this little pigs. They don’t respect fences until they’re fully grown, which if pastured exclusively is 2-3 years. You must supplement at least a pound of feed each day or they take forever to grow out. Better options are Red Wattles (easy to train to electric fence and grow out to 275-300lbs in 8 months with excellent meat quality) or Herefords (similar to RW, but faster growth and leaner meat). AGHs take twice as long to provide one fourth the meat. The juice just ain’t worth the squeeze.

I am skeptical on that claim, maybe your pigs were picky outliers or maybe you didn't train them right there are plenty who have good experiences.
