I've started modding abe very recently, and in around 1.5 months i've made a presentable mod. Honestly, it wasn't even that hard, i really feel like with enough passion and just a smidge of technical knowledge and learning speed what i did could be replicated with no problems. Oh well, it's still fun to work on even if the community is tiny

Honeslty the novelty of abe youtube and content has faded away. Cave videos are essentially dead forms of content (as most people have played through them), and you can only do so many challenges of abe before it becomes stale. Mods of the game are the only reason why the community hasnt collapsed yet. And mods are eventually going to start becoming derivative (like how better epic isnt that much different from all stars, losing its overall identity). And all stars is eventually going to get its final update some day. The decomp should make mods a lot more unique, and who knows maybe this community will rise once again. But it is not going to have more then like 5 decomp modders (its not easy to mod on the decomp). Its not really possible to predict the future well, but i wish the best for this community.

Everything you said was right! With Elite Samured barely uploading, the whole community can't be carried by ABE FAN alone for too long. In the distant future, the only light of hope is Decompilation and Island Expansion. And these lights can either just be a small spark which also fades away, or a door to new highs and peaks. I think personally speaking, from the OG 2022 days, considering Samured is barely active now, I am one of the last few OGs left. I've seen and witnessed the rise, fall, rise and fall again of many members and the community as a whole. But I have the same interest and passion for ABE as I had when I made my channel. I might not be a "Leader" or "well known" or "recognized" or "pillar" (eventhough i have discovered 2 of the many game breaking well known glitches) 🤡, I will always be here for ABE.

I think there is two mainly reason to ABE community died (again): 1. Mods are Repetitive All mods of ABE are nice but almost all of them has the same problem: ABE mods are repetitive. That's because what can you add is limited due to technical limitations. Some coders are trying to make their mods on a specific version that doesnt has limits but modding in that version (We call that version 2.0 decomp) is especially harder. 2. Toxic Community That's the main reason of no is willing to make ABE videos anymore. Toxicity is growing so badly in this community, especially in Discord. Everyone became so harsh. ... Even though I am not very willing to make videos now, I will try my best to make ABE community alive again.

Ok, I get your point. 2022 was really the year where the community started to fall apart, as this was mainly the time when the dramas started. Then 2023 was even worse with many creators leaving due to the increasing dramas and toxicity. Now in 2024, the game became much more of an "individual" game, if you get what I mean, you can play it but there aren't many people to share your content with. I wouldn't say the game itself is dead though.

Honestly, it's still surprising it's still as alive as it is today. Not that it isn't a little sad that it's no longer as big as it probably once was, but hopefully the release of 3.0.1 decomp will bring it back to life in a distant way

Tbh angry birds epic is one of the best games ever, amazing art work, the concept is so simple it works so well and best of all you can't just brute force everything. You actually need skill and cleverness to win. The communities downfall domino effect is a very typical phenomenon within games, nothing out of the ordinary but as you said the spark may not be there anymore but the love for the game definitely is. Mods like the island expansion by gotta aim and the pork side mod by Tea(I forgot his/her's name) are top tier mods that are bound to bring more attention to the game. Alot of the time modders do such a good job of keeping the game fresh the devs actually join up with them like terraira and the TMOD loader, the tmod loader wasn't even official but it did so well the devs decided to make it a verified addition to the game. Obviously nothing like that is gonna happen with ABE and it's community because rovio thinks very differently than RE logic but modders give hope I guess.

Currently the angry birds epic is on a rocky hill due to lack of update and mod, that why i lost interest it's now boring. Nothing new is currently boring for me and made me think to quit angry birds but im not. So maybe if a mod is big enough hopefully the community is alive like it used to be.

A bit late to the discussion but here's my take: This community had cracks slipping away from the beginning, it's just that they're more visible now. There was the whole fiasco with MFK (wide skulkerz) quitting, then a bunch of other dramas came about here and there between some of us which really detracted people. Another reason was that the game just got boring after a while. After you beat Snor there's really nothing to do (even with dima's mod there's only so much you can do with events and arena), and the only source of content you have for abe is challenge videos. Except the thing is those also get stale quickly and it becomes hard to come up with interesting challenge ideas. For reference look at Shyguymask and his PvZ challenge videos, they gained alot of popularity but he had to stop since the ideas were running dry and the videos were becoming stale. You just lose passion to make abe videos and run out of ideas, abe is not sustainable enough as content. Idk if anyone else relates at all here but that's exactly the case with me and the main reason why i just don't upload abe anymore. On the bright side though the abe modding scene is getting better thanks to decomp by heroic, we can do alot of cool stuff now with abe modding which we couldn't do before, and get mods like Island Expansion. So hopefully those are good signs that the cracks will heal, but yeah the community was headed in this direction way back shortly before MFK was gonna leave the community, nothing we can do really 🤷‍♂️

I think that it was a snowball effect. It all started with Andromeda drama, then Skulkers leaving, and all of that. The only reason why I think ABE didn't die is because of Alexey, who invented playable pig scripts.

Overall Video is like 9-10/10 🤌 Personally, you really did well in this video, and I'm not gonna lie, probably no one would've ever mentioned or made a video of what the community has become as whole today for this year and beyond. Because, yes, toxicity has seem to grow and it seems that it'll never stop, when this video came up and I saw it for the first time like a few hours ago and watched it right now, it made me think back and return to thinking the harsh reality of the community, and also made me aware overall of the toxicity spreading channel by channel, soon those quit youtube, like those that were mentioned in the video. (even to the fewer youtubers that got hacked, I really have no hope of them returning to the community because even then, toxicity has only grown) That's all I'll say for now, I have a lot more to say than just this but this is already long enough, even then, I might forget what I'm exactly gonna say.
