I bought these to replace my broken Mobius headset (5 years of near-daily use had its toll). I was expecting a lateral move but was blown away by the upgrade. Better build quality, clarity/staging, comfort, mic quality, and INSANE BATTERY LIFE. I also tried the Arctis Nova Pros and really liked them, but the Maxwells sound way better to my ear. The only drawback is the sidetone can be a little noisy when turned on otherwise, this is the perfect gaming headset.

When I returned to gaming about 3 years ago I picked up the Steel Series 1, now I'm excited for these and here's why. A lot of the times I'm not playing games and using my headphones to watch movies OR a series OR I'm listing to music while gaming. Steel Series are great and all but there is NO bass period and although the sound is clear in games you don't feel that rumble from explosions I have been craving to have. I have done everything from downloading the software and other programs to adjust the Steel Series settings, I just can't no matter what get the sound I want. I feel like these will bring the immersion to the next level AND finally get me to that sound I've been dying to have. I'm also one of those 2000s kids who grew up with The Fast and Furious, I had a incredible sound system trying to deck out my car. I can't wait to get that back but with headphones. I live with my family ofc and I don't want to wake anybody up with external speakers which is why I want incredible headphones. I might have made the jump sooner but Steel Series are great, it's just time to step it up to the next level.

I got one of these about a week ago. I had gone through SteelSeries, uncomfortable and don't sound very nice. Corsair virtuoso xt, great for simultaneous bluetooth and pc dongle, great mic but they don't sound very nice, clear but harsh in the higher freqs. Razer black shark pro 2, very nice, sounds pretty good, very comfortable my second favorited headset and at a good price. Then I got these Audeze Maxwell, its on a whole new level. I am very into music, I appreciate the excellent sound quality for music and movies, I don't only play games. I wish it had simultaneous bluetooth and dongle but I can live without that,. I love having separate chat mix like the older SteelSeries. The battery lasts for days while using more or less all day. Heavy yeah I know but its so comfortable you forget the weight after a few minutes.

They are comfortable, they sound really good with music and video games. They feel like a premium headset 100%. My only problem is the sidetone static. It can interfere with the audio in general. I myself like to hear myself while gaming so I don’t talk loud, especially for those late night gaming sessions. They are user friendly. Iv had mine for 4 days now and have gotten use to the functions. I am noticing some quiet crack/pop from the drivers after a while. I do not know if it’s a defect or if it’s the air pressure change while having them on, they have a nice firm fit. I really like them but wonder if I just got a bad set. Tech support is suppose to reach out this week.

I just got this headset for live streaming and it seems like people are saying that the sound quality of my normal sm58 microphone that was only around $50 that I got as a gift over 10 years ago sounded better than the microphone on this headset, I am looking for the best Wireless headset to live stream so that people can hear me on KZbin clearly and concisely and so that I can still talk to people if I get up from the Stream
@AudioAdvice3 ай бұрын
A dedicated microphone will work best for that. For party chat, the mic on the headset will be okay.

Dude crappy Maxwell headset mic is not comparable to an SM58 as cheap as they are many platinum selling albums vocals have used just an SM58, The best wireless headset on the market with the best mic quality is the Beyerdynamic MMX200 and its half the price of these.

Interesting, do you have a good headphone amp?
@Zaknaberrnon3 ай бұрын
You shouldn't use an amp with these! They are active headphones that have their own dac and amp inside that is always on and powered as long as the headset is on. If you use an amplifier you can damage the headphones, or even hurt yourself if you get blasted with a double amplified signal that will also be distorted. If they sound too quiet, look at your windows sound settings, check the eq, or search around online for possible solutions. Hope you are able to fix it!

better quality by far with the Beyerdynamic especially much better build quality. Maxwell myy problem with them is that still they are fragile and Audezes service is just not good. I d say if your first use is as headset with friends in gaming maybe maxwell makes more sens eiwth Athmos. Listening to musix via cable or when I use my DT with a dac at my xbox controller it should sound not very good but it blows away everything else.

@He_isI5 ай бұрын
No. I've read that you can still use the PS version on a PC, but you'll need the Atoms license on that PC to enable the feature. The PS version doesn't have Atoms because Sony has Tempest 3D which is a direct competitor to Dolby.

I play only Call of duty (footsteps are important) and i only use it on pc. I like wireless but i saw your review about the vzr model one wich i also like i think? With my arctis i like that the batterys are swapable and not screwed or soldered for longevity. I think i would like the combination of a few ones. for example: for footsteps the vzr model one, for comfort and convenience the arctis pro, the sound quality the audeze maxwell, for functionalitys maybe the astro a50x. Witch one would you or professionals in the comments recommend me?

Marketing, pure and simple. Hard sell at that price, especially considering the paltry mic quality. Much better Option is the Beyerdynamic MMX200 Superb Audio and the well the mic is in a league of it's own compared to these. I prefer wired and have the MMX330's the 3.5 doesn't go in my PC though It goes into a "Rode VLXR+" adapter that steps down 48v to 5v to power it so I can use it with my expensive XLR audio gear for direct monitoring and hardware preamp/EQ/comp. Nothing worse than Windows terrible Mic implementation and soundcards/mobo audio.

Technically speaking, the PlayStation version of the headset does not "use" Tempest. Similar to Dolby it is a feature that is enabled solely on the console itself and gives the illusion of directional sound with each and every stereo headset. Those headsets also don't need to support that feature at all. It's just that Tempest, generally speaking, works best on headsets/-phones with a wide soundstage. (Which is why the Maxwell does very well on PlayStation - both versions, that is.)
