Thats not a shame at all. Lennon and McCartney wrote I Wann Be Your Man for the Rolling Stones because of their lack of material in one day. They would laugh at Jagger and Richards as well. Ringo was a drummer, not a composer. If John Bonham tried to compose in front of Lennon and McCartney, they would laugh as well

However, they seemed to also be just as dismissive of George Harrison, and he was arguably able to equal their songwriting ability all by himself; it seems there was a lot of ego surrounding how they perceived themselves.

@@ScottDerkez from what I gathered in interviews with John and Paul commenting on this topic of George's songs, it seemps like George would also rewrite other people's songs during the early years. Near the end of the band, he had acquired quite a talent for composing, that much is true.
