I agree, I feel like the show would have been better if the characters weren't obsessed with "wacky pranks" and instead maintained the same humor found in the comics. I feel like the character who got the worst of it was Chad, who got turned from a friendly and lovable side character to a dumb underpants-on-the-head moron

I only came to the show because I was tired of it appearing in my ad, so I decided to give it a try and liked it, but I respect your opinion. I do love the songs in it as well! I don’t really know about it because I saw the show before I saw the comics.

@@woodster4123 The writers seem to think dumb, gross and obnoxious = humor. Granted Chad was kind of an airhead in the book. But he made it look cute and charming. In the show. Chad is just disturbing for me. Some characters that feel more like their book counterparts are Deedee and Francis. Nate on the other hand is more annoying and full of himself then ever. Honestly it feels like this show is trying to be like ed edd n eddy.

they should have kept it 2d with the lines for eyes to stay more true to the actual comic book-style the books had. The animation here looks like shit.

I think the animation and art style of the characters would look a lot better if they looked like characters from the captain underpants movie, but this is just my opinion. I also think the character writing could work better. Big Nate is sometimes known for his pranks, but only from prank day. However Nick didn't ACTUALLY READ Big Nate and just created yet another middle school kid who always does pranks 24/7

It may have been a while since I've read the Big Nate books, but I don't remember the humor in them being this disgusting like the show. Big Nate deserves better.

There is a show out that is a better adaptation of Lincoln Peirce’s other book Max and the Midknights. Its tone is closer to the book and its art style is more like Lincoln’s art style too. They even have the dotted eyes!!! It makes me so mad that they didn’t just do that for Big Nate!!

I'm not gonna try to change your mind about gay ppl (cause that's futile) but if anything, take this as advice to improve your critiques and be more objective. The rest was pretty fine

The biggest differences i hate about the show. Nates even more insufferable in the show then he is in the comics. They made Chad a complete weirdo. All the adults in the show are morons. While i have nothing against LBGT characters. Making Deedee lesbian feels like way too much of a stretch from her source material. I think Francis is much closer to his comic counterpart and i like it. I just dont like that he is sometimes Nates scapegoat. Side note. Im not too fond of the voice acting. Especially Randys

All right, I’m gonna tell you this, I mainly came to the show because I love the music! The music in here is awesome! But I can tell you I do not like what they did to Chad either!

@@CreatorOfTGCFS I know right. Don't get me wrong. Chad was kind of an airhead in the books. But he had a sense of charm to it. In the show Chad is just straight up disturbing. It's like he's a completely different character. Plus he really feels more like a side character used for more humorless slapstick.

@@whitefox7776 yeah, I do still love the show in my opinion because of the songs they use in here! The theme song will always be my favorite along with faults and all and I wanna live as a rackleffian! If you already know, the show got canceled March 28th, but I just bought it off of Apple TV and I got to see the unreleased episodes that I missed over the time. And let me tell you the show kinda got worse, they made Teddy obsessed with bvtts! They also were using cuss references! I will tell you, though there are some scenes in here that actually make me laugh, and it doesn’t really matter what other characters they use because I kind of like Amy, I’ll tell you that! And I’m gonna say this, do not bash my opinion, this is 100 times better than the diary of a Wimpy kid movies.

I don’t think it’s that bad, but it doesn’t serve Big Nate as a whole. It doesn’t have barely any similarity to the comics in any way except the characters. I don’t think characters being gay or lgbt is a problem, but I do agree the big Nate show was pretty bad.

The problem with the show is that they miss the audience. I'm still technically a part of the younger generation, but c'mon. Who still finds fart jokes and potty humor funny? 3 year olds? Yeah, that's just watered down and straight stupid. I'm not sure if that's what the show is targeted for, which is a terrible thing. I'm not sure if they're aware of this, but Big Nate is usually a series that usually targets an audience of pre-teens and preceding adults, and of course older people read it too. You can tell because of the witty jokes that the comics and books have and also the comic relief that can be considered humorous for any audience of entertainment. Well, either way the show fails. Because even if they do target the show for the younger generation, (which is not what they should be doing) why have them learn about physical disabilities and sexuality at such a young age? Are they serious?? Not tryna be a homophobe, but please leave that aside. That doesn't work at all considering the show is supposed to be satire, not sensitive. They just straight up ruined a comic strip that was supposed to be on top on the world. They had an opportunity to raise up the popularity of Big Nate and even carry on the lasting legacy of Lincoln Peirce. They done did this man dirty again. Just looking at the clips of the show is slowly rotting my brain. They treated Big Nate like a joke. Not exactly high quality animation either but that's a smaller problem. I think maybe they tried emulating a different type of "Big Nate" through the new characters and reoccuring events, but change isn't always good, and this is the prime example of that. Maybe Peirce will find another way to promote Big Nate, cause maybe he has to at this point

I’m not gonna let this video get to me! I still love Big Nate and that’s final! I’m still sad the show got cancelled back in March, and so that’s why I purchased it off of Apple TV!
