I think the attack on Mufti’s house played a role in his “change of consciousness”. What initially attracted people to him (including myself) was his funny rebellious yet serious attitude towards some major issues and narratives in the Islamic corpus and communities. He offered a relaxed and refreshing perspective compared to the dogmatic approaches that many Muslims took part in. Now I believe Mufti understood that his previous mindset couldn’t grant him and his family safety nor peace of mind so he took a different path to convey his thoughts. That being said, Comedy Central doesn’t feature Gangu Telli, our Belowwed and Danny Booiii 🥲

MALM your laugh was contagious. But honest to God, I tuned in, because it was a refreshing perspective that made sense and brought me closer to Islam and the love of God. Hi Mufti.. somebody asked me once why won't I get a tattoo..I had to really be honest with myself... I eventually got the answer deep within myself lol..it was I found I'm always working on myself..ever trying to better myself ever evolving and changing and it.. in my case definitely feels like I changed with age...and my answer was that I cant ever do things that are so permanently engrained cos I'm constantly reevaluating my yesterdays and calculating my tommorows wanting to make good and better choices and decisions especially on how my life impacts those dear people around me...always wanting to be a sweet savour and never wanting to leave a bad taste... that's just me..but I wasn't always like that tho...it's was ever changing times that brought about it...life happens every day...my wife was married to 5 different guys in the last 5 years ..all 5 trying to better than the previous one in respect of being a neighbour,being a dad,being a husband being a colleague...all 5 was different versions of me lol so good for you on your journey in life..learn to change and be a better version of yourself daily.. Frankly I miss the old Mufti Sahab with his jokes "Nawa Aaya Hai Soneya", his ear ring, punisher chain and overall guts and knowledge in exposing the fallacies in Hadiths, mostly narrated by Abu Hurairah, countering the dogmatic views of Wahhabis. As much as I miss it, I do see him at an overall better place spiritually and I wish him the very best. I follow him and enjoy his content, and get to learn at the sametime.
