I think the big elephant is tha tthe Clippers don't own the rights to their own first round pick until 2030, so treading water with Paul George would've atleast protected them a bit from a Kawhi Leonard injury and to not forfeit as high of draft picks to the Thunder or 76ers and then maybe reevaluate and bite the bullet in 2026 or 2027 instead of right now

The first guy is really trippin, 5 years and this guy did nothing to elevate them to the championship, Kawhi injury prone, PG inconsistent and injury prone, and the first offer was not disrespectful, that’s how negotiations go, you start low and work your way up, PG did nothing to put them in a position to win, I really hope he is prepared for the pressure he’s going to be under in Philly, it’s championship or bust for him and the Sixers, if you don’t win a championship with Philly you will meet the real Daryl Morey, and the Clippers have Max money to spend in the 25-26 season, fellows read and understand the new NBA’s CBA then understand how this thing benefited the Clippers…..

Letting PG walk was a great decision. But the smarter decision would have been to trade him. The Knicks wanted him but Clippers were trying asking for too much. Kawhi got injured in 2021 cos of PG not carrying his weight. Kawhi had to have shooting splits of 100/100/100 in the 4th quarter in all the wins against Dallas and Utah for a chance to win. Kawhi at 75/45/89 splits was losing games cos PG wasn't showing up against Dallas. Hence, Clippers went 7 games. Yes both guys deserve blame but when Kawhi plays you have hope, you're in awe. In fact, when he plays Clippers are on a 62 win pace. When PG plays only, Clippers are a 500 team. When both play, Clippers are on a 67 win pace.

Its a bit skewd, but the Clippers failed on this. When they extended Kawhi, PG wanted the same contract( wanted to finish with kawhi). Clippers didnt want to commit, let PG play the season, and PG put up a really good regular season( although fell off in playoffs; all things considered[kawhi injured]). Then, after that season, the clips were NOW willing to give him that 3 year 150( timeline wise he would have played 2 seasons, but got traded in his 3rd)- So PG wanted the no trade clause 😂. In clippers defense, they have every right to say NO to a no-trade( look how that worked out for Beale). So, PG knows clippers will trade him towards the end of his contract, so he wanted the 4 year( knowing he would atleast get his moneys worth even if in his final year he ends up on a bad team/bad fit). Instead, Clips let him walk for nothing 😂

@@pfpchad2747 yeah that bubble year was probably their best chance at winning or maybe 21( they would have had to beat Giannis in 21 tho). Either way, they should have signed PG when they signed kawhi.. even if they don't win, they can move both of them for assets, and start a rebuild. Now they only have kawhi, who Nobody believes can stay healthy, and Harden... No one's giving a ton of draft capital/young players talent for them.
