I’ve had my Cook Shack electric smoker for seven years and absolutely love it! I did a turkey and summer sausage this week with 20 degree temperatures with no problems. I’ve encountered problems with cold temperatures affect the controls so mine always stays in a heated environment. I wouldn’t spend the money on the probe. I purchased one but I no longer use it after getting Meater thermometers. With a Cook Shack smoker along with Meater thermometers you’ve got the very best combination. I hope someone gave you the two dollar tour of the manufacturing process. This is a first class operation and wouldn’t have anything else.

This is what we run as the Bones Brothers. We have two of these on our trailer. If you are in town April 27th we would love to have you out at 10K brewing to see our set up, try some of our bbq as we raise money for Fire suppression tools for Anoka county first responders.

Killer walk through bro! I’ve wanted a Fast Eddy for years now. Such an amazing product. One day I’ll pull the trigger.

Excellent walk thru Darrin. Bad ass looking smoker. Buy once, cry once but if you average it out over the lifetime of the smoker it really isn’t that bad. Especially if you are catering , etc.

Darrin, I'm interested in your thoughts about the FEC 100 compared to the CTO. Are you still using the FEC and happy with the final product being produced? How does the flavor profile on the FEC compare to the Ole Hickory? Thanks love the channel.
@AshKickinBBQ15 күн бұрын
@@jaredsharp7471 they’re both wonderful cookers, and I don’t have a bad thing to say about either of them. I think as far as true smoker flavor, the CTO takes it because of the ability to use splits. But the FEC also has a great final product. It’s all about what you’re looking for, and how much you want to spend because there’s a significant price difference between the two.

@@AshKickinBBQ thanks for the reply. I currently own a CTO and was looking at the FEC as a dedicated pellet cooker at the house.
@AshKickinBBQ15 күн бұрын
@ I don’t see any reason why you’d regret it. I don’t have a single bad thing to say about the FEC. I had one issue that the fan motor went out, talked to their diagnostic guy, and had a new fan motor 2 days later.

@@AshKickinBBQ Good to hear. I have a freind of mine with an LSG cabinet that puts out a really good product so I've been back and forth between the FEC and the LSG. Really like the stainless construction of the Cookshack and the Fireboard controller on the LSG to me is not proven.
@AshKickinBBQ15 күн бұрын
@ I have a LSG pellet grill, and it’s great. To me, the Fireboard is 100% proven. I have a ton of their products, and I love the controller in my LSG. That being said, having the insulated FEC is a must here in MN for me. My LSG works fine, but just a ton of uninsulated mass to heat up.

New to grilling….could a metal dryer duct be added to exhaust so smoker can left in the garage and vented out? Or does the smoker always need to be outside?

I'm not qualified to answer this lol

I have bought a total of 7 units from Cookshack. I got the small one first for myself and my three kids then an amerique and a fast eddy's pg1000. love them all and customer service cannot be beat. They are fantastic. Cannot go wrong with their products. I have had their units for over 20 years. looking forward to your cooks. thanks for sharing. makes me want one of these

Do you have to constantly adjust the LHT and the HHT? I “had” a pg500 and my frustration level was off the chart. I had to constantly change it day-to-day, based on what I was cooking. I programmed it to 325 then it would go up to 438° and down to 230° never staying near 325.
